Your Commitment Reporting to the Head of Department, theideal candidate should be a creative and innovative individual,with demonstrated commitment to excellence in effective teachingand research accomplishments. Preference will be given tocandidates whose teaching dossier and research agenda best preparethem to fulfill an interdisciplinary role in quantitative andqualitative research methods and statistics courses within theundergraduate curriculum across colleges. Teaching &Learning • Commitment to UDST’s mandate ofexcellence in applied and experiential teaching and learningpedagogies • Demonstrate fluent ability to design anddeliver teaching materials across a range of courses usingstudent-centered strategies with appropriate learning supports• Commitment to creating and evaluating authenticassessment tools that validly and reliably measure mastery ofcourse learning outcomes while promoting lifelong learning• Demonstrated ability to develop technology-enrichedlearning environments that enable students to be activeparticipants in their own education • Digital literacy anddemonstrated fluency in UDST’s learning managementsystem, and an ability to model and facilitate use of current andemerging digital platforms committed to student learning andfeedback • Manage the resources of the learningenvironment, including print, online, university, and communityresources, student success strategies, and course portfoliodocuments required for program review and accreditation processesScholarship & Research • Contribution to theadvancement of knowledge through applied research, scholarship,publications, knowledge transfer or professional practice whichwould be expected to be international in its scope •Establish relevant professional memberships or affiliations withindustry and academic bodies to grow UDST’s researchnetwork • Generate research projects with university,national, and international impact and profile that aligns withUDST’s applied research mission and Qatar’s2030 National Vision • Professional recognition andstanding amongst peers. The broad criteria are noted below.Education • PhD in Statistics or Applied Mathematics, froma recognized institution is required; preference is given tocandidates whose doctoral degree is focused in evaluation andapplied research methods • Post-graduate certificate ineducation teaching methods, or equivalent, may be considered anasset Experience • Minimum of five (5) years full-timeexperience as a faculty member in higher education or an industrytraining environment • A combination of recent, relevantacademic and/or professional experience may be considered assets• Industrial experience as a practitioner/professionalwithin the relevant discipline may be considered anasset
