Job Summary

The Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) is responsible for the performance integrity and security of Oracle databases. The DBA will ensure data is accessible protected from loss and and easily recoverable. This role includes the planning and development of databases as well as troubleshooting any issues on behalf of the users.

Key Responsibilities

  • Installation and Configuration
  • Install and configure Oracle database software and tools.
  • Set up and manage database user accounts ensuring proper access control.
  • Database Design and Implementation
  • Design database structures and schemas.
  • Create and maintain database objects such as tables indexes views and stored procedures.
  • Performance Tuning
  • Monitor and optimize the performance of the database.
  • Perform regular database performance analysis and tuning.
  • Resolve performance bottlenecks in collaboration with application developers.
  • Backup and Recovery
  • Develop and implement database backup and recovery strategies.
  • Ensure data integrity and consistency through regular backups.
  • Test and verify backup and recovery processes.
  • Security Management
  • Implement and enforce database security policies.
  • Manage database security by controlling access permissions and privileges.
  • Perform regular security audits and vulnerability assessments.
  • Monitoring and Maintenance
  • Monitor database health and performance using automated tools and scripts.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks such as patching and upgrades.
  • Manage database storage and capacity planning.
  • Troubleshooting and Support
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for databaserelated issues.
  • Resolve database errors and failures in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with IT teams to solve complex infrastructure and application issues.
  • Documentation and Reporting
  • Document database configurations procedures and changes.
  • Generate regular reports on database performance capacity and usage.
  • Maintain detailed records of database backup and recovery processes.
  • Compliance and Best Practices
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Stay uptodate with the latest database technologies and best practices.
  • Implement and adhere to database management best practices and procedures.

Qualifications

  • Education
  • Bachelors degree in computer science Information Technology or related field.
  • Experience
  • 3 years of experience as an Oracle DBA.
  • Proven experience in database installation configuration and management.
  • Experience with database design performance tuning backup and recovery.
  • Skills
  • Proficiency in SQL and PL/SQL programming.
  • Strong knowledge of Oracle database architecture and administration.
  • Familiarity with Oracle RAC Data Guard and ASM.
  • Experience with database monitoring tools (e.g. Oracle Enterprise Manager).
  • Strong problemsolving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Certifications
  • Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) is preferred.
  • Other relevant certifications are a plus.

Job Type: Contract
