The IMS SME reports to the Aircraft Records Manager. The role holder is required to lead on all IMS matters from IMS Application and Data Management liaising with inservices organisations and UK Support advising operational bestpractice in terms of system usage from Goods Receipt to issuing assets forward to Approved Maintenance Organisations. The role holder shall provide effective utilisation of subject matter knowledge and experience ensuring efficient working of the IMS system and be able to support the delivery of maintenance tasking and verification at strategic and tactical levels. Ensuring maximum operational effect whilst minimising cost.

The post holder should have a strong quantitative and analytical skills/experience with lean management principles and be an effective credible communicator with good interpersonal skills. They will require good Typhoon product knowledge and a good understanding of the relationship with interfacing/contributory areas and be able to analyse and interpret data with a high level of attention to detail.

Core Activity

Supporting the effective management of and delivery of the IMS data ensuring that it is current and applicable to the Part 21 (Design Organisation) design.

Supporting the effective management regarding the delivery of the IMS data to ensable the accomplishment of all maintenance in accordance with the Operator Maintenance Programme.

At a tactical level lead the Data/ Process Integrity interface with the Design Organisation Maintenance Tasking & Verification Part M and all Approved Maintenance Organisations.

Manage and report on the effectiveness of IMS data management including feedback to design across all respnosble maintenance locations. Ensure any trends are identified generate effective resolution escalate to management.

Manage and lead the inputting of new electronic Airworthiness Records Reference and Business Data to the inservice IMS.

Delivering the necessary activities required to maintain the configuration qualifty and integrity of the inservice IMS.

Key Accountabilities

  • Develop and maintain strategic relations Cultivate strong strategic relationships with key internal and external stakeholders to enhance collaboration communication and trust. Act as the primary point of contact and liaison to ensure effective operational support.
  • Performance indicators Ensure the effective management of Continuing Airworthiness Records activities by setting delivery targets monitoring progress and developing performance improvement programmes. Prioritises activities within/across the team to maximise efficiency. Responsible for the assessment of escalated issues for any impact on Continuing Airworthiness and generating effective resolution or sponsoring escalation to management as appropriate. Understand how the team and your actions contribute to overall delivery performance.
  • Completion of activities Ensure all Continuing Airworthiness Records activities are recorded and Airworthiness Records are maintained on relevant systems (IT/paper based). Ensure all Continuing Airworthiness Records activities are performed by suitably qualified experienced and authorised personnel. Ensure the integration of Continuing Airworthiness Records activity within the business including the engagement of key stakeholders at all stages of the process. Provide support and guidance to the team. Provide OJT aligned to the role training specification for QAF candidates.
  • Procedure/standards Compliance with the Continuing Airworthiness Management Exposition its associated procedures and standards and any other applicable company procedures and standards. Agree and enact change to these procedures and standards as required.
  • Safety Management System Promote the application of human factors error management safety assurance within the Continuing Airworthiness Records team together with the proactive analysis mitigation and management of hazards.
  • Management System Assurance Ensure inservice IMS activities are compliant with the applicable governance and assurance framework. Ensure process confirmations and independent assurance audits are supported by Continuing Airworthiness Records personnel and integrated within/across teams. Manage the response to audit findings in a timely and appropriate manner and provide information into the relevant reviews. Generate and implement effective improvements within/across team to overcome any noncompliance and monitor effectiveness.
  • Continuing Airworthiness Assurance (Quality) Management and application of the CAA system within airworthiness records including supporting audits responding to findings related to reference data configuration and lifing exceptions in a timely manner and providing relevant information into the appropriate reviews.
  • Statutory / Regulatory & Legislative requirements Demonstrate a detailed understanding and application of the Continuing Airworthiness regulatory framework and ensure the organisation is advised of any changes. Ensure compliance with all other requirements e.g. ITAR/E&PW.
  • Contractual Requirements Ensure compliance with all applicable contractual requirements Support contract reviews and ensure communication of any changes into Airworthiness Records activities as appropriate


Requirements

Minimum of a recognised qualification to NVQ3/ONC level in a relevant discipline or suitable equivalent

Understands the regulatory framework and its applicability to the maintenance tasking and verification processes and activities

Able to build good relationships with customers Part 145 Organisation and other key stakeholders personnel

Have operational knowledge and understanding of the platform contract the fleet s performance and the business key performance metrics

Demonstrate an understanding of reliability programmes and the impact of their findings on the operator maintenance programme
