  • Works conforming to the current MIA- QM’s mission, strategic goals, values, policies, and procedures.
  • Ensures the long-term care of the relevant collection but also helps to prepare and install temporary exhibitions.
  • Surveys the collection, checks and records condition of individual objects.
  • Prepares Ceramics & Glass collection care plan (treatment proposals, time assessment and prioritizing) as well as individual conservation proposals in consultation with Curatorial Department.
  • Carries out conservation treatment and keeps detailed and complete Conservation records.
  • Applies preventive conservation principles with focus on Ceramics & Glass collection. Monitors storage and display conditions to ensure safety/stability of objects. He/she should have a comprehensive knowledge of the monitoring and controlling system of the collection’s environment.
  • Undertakes material / technological examination and documentation of collection objects and occasionally of objects proposed for acquisition.
  • Records all activities related to the examination and conservation of Ceramics and Glass collection (using the MIA Collections Management System – KE EMu database)
  • Supervises or occasionally manufactures storage or shipment packaging for objects. If required, he accompanies objects during handling or/and shipment to other locations.
