Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistant



Sunshine Staffing is currently seeking a Nurse Practitioner to assume responsibility and accountability for the application of the nursing process and the delivery of patient care. The Nurse Practitioner (PN) / Physician Assistant (PA) demonstrates the ability to make clinical judgments in an effective and efficient manner under the direction of the Director of Clinical Services.

Will work under the general supervision of the Medical Director providing care to patients. Areas covered but not limited to will be primary care, acute episodic care, sports physicals, womens health, disease management, etc. DOT Certified preferred or willingness to obtain within 6 months of employment. Responsibilities
  • Provide medical services, including health evaluations, diagnosis, treatment, prescribed medications, and order referrals.
  • Conduct phone and in-person triage of injured employees to determine and arrange proper disposition of employees to hospital, clinic, home, or return to work.
  • Perform Commercial Drivers License (CDL) medical certifications and post-offer, pre-placement physical examinations.
  • Collaborate with the City of Colorado Springss Occupational Health Clinic, Physical Therapy, and Workers Compensation
  • Perform testing and evaluation for Hearing Conservation Program in accordance with OSHA and CAOHC, Pulmonary Clearance and Respirator Fit Testing in accordance with OSHA and support the asbestos monitoring program.
  • Collaborate on department and occupational health policies, procedures, and programs with safety engineering, ergonomics, and industrial hygiene.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements
  • Relevant and progressively responsible experience providing primary/urgent/emergency care services to the adult population; experience providing medical services and care for occupational injuries is valued.
  • Graduate of an accredited Nursing or Physician Assistant program
  • AANPCB, ANCC, or NCCPA Board Certification as applicable
  • An active license, in good standing, to practice as an Advanced Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in the state of Colorado.
  • Possession of current State and Federal DEA certification and the legal ability to prescribe schedule II-V medications/narcotics.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certifications
