Plan and ensure the proper slant, slope, fall, or level of installations to provide for proper flow, drainage, and sanitary operating conditions and to prevent backflow, vacuum, or airlock conditions. Plan and accomplish work from initial layout to final assembly which involves interpreting and applying building plans specifications, blueprints, sketches, and other plumbing guides/codes and using shop mathematics. Locate and tap main lines, set up system routes, place and cut route openings, place hangers for proper level and slope.ResponsibilitiesMajor Responsibilities: Complete effective and efficient inspection, testing, operation, maintenance, repair, programming and upkeep of backflow systems base-wide using automated management systems. Shall perform plumbing tasks required for fire suppression systems. Interpret instruments and meter readings, use wiring diagrams, schematics, drawings and technical publications, use applicable test equipment, safety rules and practices, environmental policies, and principles of management and operation of on-site backflow systems. Conduct and document surveys of water system backflow prevention/cross-connection IAW AFI 32-1067, Water and Fuel Systems. Implement preventative maintenance plan and maintain records. Responsible for following a comprehensive safety program in compliance with Vectrus, OSHA and United States Air Force (USAF) requirements. Responsible for maintaining a safe, clean, sanitary, healthy, presentable, professional atmosphere, free of dust, clutter and trash in all working facilities and areas. Responsible for following a comprehensive, flexible, and properly documented training program. Responsible for proper utilization and safeguarding of all government and contractor provided property (e.g., to include government facilities, equipment and tools). Responsible for precise execution of company time reporting procedures and accurate completion of timesheet. Performs other duties as assigned. QualificationsEducation/Certifications: One-year related experience may be substituted for one year of education, if degree is required. Shall have surveyor qualification requirements or shall be certified by a state as a backflow/cross connection surveyor. Surveyors must have satisfactorily completed a training program such as: a survey course addressing Federal and state regulations, cross-connection identification, and types and uses of backflow prevention devices recognized by a state; a survey course addressing Federal and state regulations, cross-connection identification, types and uses of backflow prevention devices through a nationally or internationally recognized training program with written and performance examinations. State certified as backflow/cross connections surveyor. High school diploma or equivalent. Must have a current, valid U. S. Passport and Driver’s License (able to drive manual transmission). Must have and maintain a valid U. S. SECRET Security Clearance prior to deployment. Must obtain an Air Force flight line driver’s license prior to FOC of task order. Must pass a flight line access test and obtain flight line access badge. Must be able to pass employment and deployment qualification requirements that include psychological, medical, dental, drug testing and background checks. Candidates must successfully complete both online and hands-on CBRN (chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear) defense training. Training includes the successful fit testing of DOD provided protective gear. Experience: Direct experience relating to installation, maintenance and testing of back flow systems. Shall be familiar in implementation and compliance with UFC, Design and O&M Mass Notification Systems Preferred knowledge of UFC, Operations and Maintenance: Inspection, Testing, and Maintenance of Fire Protection System.
