WSP Middle East are currently looking for a Senior Quantity Surveyor with expertise in design and construction governance to join our dynamic team in Qatar.
**Your new role, what's involved?**
- Lead the commercial governance framework for design and construction projects, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Develop and implement policies, procedures, and controls to safeguard project interests.
- Oversee all quantity surveying activities, including measurement, valuation, and cost estimation, throughout the design and construction phases of projects.
- Ensure accuracy and consistency in quantity take-offs and bill of quantities.
- Manage all aspects of contract administration, from procurement to final account settlement.
- Review and negotiate contracts, variations, and claims to protect the client's interests and minimize financial risks.
- Implement robust cost control measures to monitor project expenditures and ensure adherence to budgetary constraints.
- Analyze cost data, identify trends, and recommend cost-saving strategies to optimize project profitability.
- Liaise with suppliers, contractors, and subcontractors to procure goods and services in accordance with project requirements.
- Evaluate supplier bids, negotiate contracts, and monitor performance to ensure compliance with contractual agreements.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate commercial risks associated with design and construction activities.
- Develop risk management strategies and contingency plans to minimize potential disruptions and financial liabilities.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and project teams.
- Provide expert advice and guidance on commercial matters to support informed decision-making and project success.
- Mentor and support junior quantity surveyors, fostering their professional development and growth within the organization.
- Lead by example, promoting a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

**We'd love to hear from you if you have**:

- Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or related field. Professional accreditation (e.g., MRICS) preferred.
- Extensive experience in quantity surveying and commercial management within a consultancy environment, with a focus on design and construction governance.
- Strong knowledge of contract law, procurement practices, and construction contracts (FIDIC, NEC, etc.).
- Proficiency in quantity surveying software and tools (BIM, AutoCAD).
- Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills, with the ability to interface effectively with clients and stakeholders.
- Proven leadership abilities, with a track record of managing and motivating teams to achieve project objectives.
- Experience working in Qatar or the Middle East region is advantageous.
