**Qualifications**:
- ITI training or technical training school certificate.
- 2-3 years' experience in operating grit blasting machines, painting and carrying out GRP work for boats;
- Shipyard experience is required;
- Experience in heavy engineering organisations is required;
- GRP piping woks experience is required.
- Basic knowledge will be an added advantage
- Working knowledge of English/Hindi
- Knowledge of operating grit blasting machines, painting and carrying out GRP work for boats;
- Knowledge of related health, safety, security and environmental regulations;
- Ability to operate painting and blasting equipment, machineries and tools.
**Task Description**:
- To perform painting, blasting and glass reinforced plastic (GRP) repair activities in a safe and controlled manner as per the direct instruction of Asst. Foreman - Painting & Blasting
- Carry out grit blasting, sand blasting and painting works;
- Operate jet washing and steam washing equipment;
- Operate painting and blasting equipment, machineries and tools;
- Carry out GRP repair works by using resins and fiber materials. Bond wood reinforcing strips to decks and cabin structures of watercraft, using resin-saturated fiberglass;
- Check completed products for conformance to specifications and for defects by measuring with rulers or micrometres, by checking them visually, or by tapping them to detect bubbles or dead spots;
- Measure dimensions of completed products or workpieces to verify conformance to specifications;
- Inspect, clean, and assemble molds or parts before beginning work. Maintain the tools and equipment in a clean way after and during the work execution;
- Repair or modify damaged or defective glass-fiber parts, checking thicknesses, densities, and contours to ensure a close fit after repair;
- Perform GRP piping works on site, including shutdown projects;
- Report all reworks to Quality Department;
- Report to Assistant Foreman - Painting and Blasting any deviation from schedule and report in advance any risks and issues expected, repetitive unsolved problems, misconduct of team members or unsafe acts;
- Follow Assistant Foreman - Painting and Blasting instructions (in verbal and memo forms) with regard to work execution and objectives implementation, however, do not bypass safety and quality and report to management and QHSE;
- Coordinate and cooperate with other sections personnel in order to accomplish on time the activities and report to Assistant Foreman - Painting and Blasting any bottle necks for support;
- Advise and recommend procedures improvement and materials/equipment purchase in order to save hours and perform as per high safety and quality standards available in the Shipyard. Use approved document reporting;
- Plan in advance tools and equipment required to perform the job at the earliest and as per assigned tasks and request pending materials;
- Attend daily production tool box meetings strictly on time and ensure projected goals are met and all issues are being addressed;
- Act towards continuous self development and improvement and facility;
- Responsible daily for housekeeping at work location (workshop or site);
- Responsible to maintain in good conditions the tools and equipment working with;
- Use complete set of PPE minimum: helmet, coverall, gloves, googles, ear plugs and any specific protective equipment during working hours;
- Ensure that all works are carried out in a safe and high-quality manner and in compliance with the division's HSSE, Quality Assurance procedures, Quality Manuals
- Report to line manager if no assigment or no work issued on daily basis;
- Perform all job functions in accordance with MILAHA s Mission and Vision Core values;
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
