The Secondary School is currently open to students in Grades 6 to 10 and will open Grade 11 in August 2023 and Grade 12 in August 2024. We offer a high quality, bespoke, International Curriculum in Grades 6, 7 and 8. In Grades 9 and 10, our students begin the High School Diploma and we aim to offer two pathways in Grades 11 and 12: the High School Diploma and the IB Diploma.

**About the role**

The Languages Department teach French, Spanish and Arabic B to non-native speakers and align with the ACTFL standards. We are looking to appoint an Arabic B specialist, who:

- is an outstanding practitioner
- has experience of teaching Arabic B from Grades 6 to 12 (Years 7 - 13),
- is passionate about teaching and learning with a commitment to continuous improvement
- will be committed to the vision of igniting passion, purpose and potential in our students
- can contribute to the development of the The Languages Department, offering creative opportunities to enrich the learning experience of students at THIS
- can adapt the curriculum to fit student needs while maintaining overall class progress
- assesses and records student development, while identifying problem areas and areas which need attention and improvement
- has excellent communication skills with students, colleagues, parents, and school leaders
- maintains high levels of behaviour among students, while promoting safety and compliance with school rules and guidelines
- is passionate about learning beyond the curriculum
