1. Monitor the actual performance of the Fertilizer and Methanol/MTBE facilities in order to verify that the facilities design targets, production yields and operating philosophies are being achieved, pro-actively communicate gaps to potential and propose improvement activities

2. Provide technical review of actual performance of the facilities including reliability, operability, availability and maintainability to ensure that the design of proposed new development in the facility is practical, realistic and unlikely to give rise to future operational problems. Propose alternative engineering solutions for the plants improvement proposals.

3. Support Assistant Manager in his role as Asset Manager by coordinating all deliverables under the Asset Manager Framework with the cross-functional Asset Team, according to the prescribed timeline

4. Lead external benchmark activities and prepare improvement plan for assigned asset(s), to attain and maintain 1st quartile performance benchmark on capacity, reliability, cost, shutdown duration and other relevant technical parameters

5. Analyse asset’s Work Plan and Budget (WPB) submissions against identified activities and priorities, pro-actively provide insights into degree of alignment between assets’ management and the company, propose actions to improve alignment

6. Identify areas for cost reduction and potential synergies and capacity creep/ Debottleneck, which are effective in reducing the overall production cost, increase reliability and/or reduce carbon footprint. Perform initial techno/economic evaluations of improvement proposals.

7. Provide technical and business inputs for the development of the downstream strategy, evaluation of investment proposals and commercial negotiations

8. Ensure that lessons learned from existing operating facilities are transferred to enhance the process design of all projects.

9. Provide mentoring and on the job training of engineers to ensure knowledge transfer and retention, career development and implementation of the directorate plan.

10. Develop stakeholder management plan and coordinate technology providers, consultants to insure external insights and trends, ideas, constraints are captured for the generation of improvement initiatives and their evaluation.

11. Review operational and financial performance of the assets through assets’ management and KPI reports. Develop internal management reports for leadership team.

12. Verify Green House Gas (GHG) submission from assets to ensure that relevant assets comply with the requirements of GHG Procedure and that the GHG verification process is carried out in timely manner as per schedule.

13. Analyze the monthly flaring data submitted by assets for flare reporting to Senior Management and to monitor companies' progress on reducing flared gas volume.

14. Prepare briefings and recommendations for board member on JV’s, by delivering relevant reviews of studies and recommendations to be presented for decisions and Work Plans &Budget approvals

15. Identify, evaluate and recommend synergies, integration and standardization opportunities and implement those agreed by management

16. Communicate effectively with JV staff to obtain data or support implementation of improvement initiatives

Requirements

1. Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical/Mechanical Engineering is required. Higher academic qualification is preferred.

2. Minimum of 10-15 years of broad relevant industrial experience required, in an operational environment, preferably in plant management. Experience in project design engineering and development including project evaluation.

3. Operating or engineering experience in Ammonia / Fertilizer and / or Methanol / MTBE is required

4. Understanding of discounted cash flow valuation methods and metrics such as NPV, IRR & financial metrics such as ROCE

5. Strong communication skills and proven decision making and problem-solving skills. Good command of the English language is essential, both written and verbal.

6. Fully versatile in MS office suite: Word, Excel, Powerpoint.

7. Strong negotiations and interpersonal skills are required
