Purpose & Context
With substantially growing data usage, the need to expand network capacities which adds operating costs and capital spend without being able for most instances to monetize on the additional data usage, wireless operators also see a heightened pressure on their operations cost with a need to optimize spend across the board to maintain financial health.

To ensure Ooredoo stays competitive and to attract customers with an outstanding customer experience, Ooredoo Group and its OpCos have to evolve their operations by being in our markets an early adopter for innovations that
- substantially step up customer experience,
- improve via insights capabilities our relevance to customers and the ability to outcompete our local competitors and
- drive efficiencies to maintain the long-term health of our operations.

A Group Innovation Mgmt function is intended to ensure
- the alignment of activities in focus areas that aim to drive the evolution of our core operations
- coordinate and foster best practice exchange between OpCos
- avoid duplications through “invent once, roll multiple times”
- and provide services to OpCos to drive synergies in the roll-out of innovation projects such as managing projects to touch more than one OpCo

The role-holder is accountable for a successful set-up and operations of the innovation leadership team within Ooredoo that is supposed to focus innovation on specific business problems in our core telecoms operations, facilitate best practice exchange, establish transparency on innovation activities and roadmaps, align those and to avoid duplications.

In addition the role-holder is supposed - beyond the ILT management - to facilitate best practice exchange among Opcos, be the owner for the transparency of innovation roadmaps and progress of related activities against targets.

Furthermore the role owner is supposed to help in the execution planning for POCs and central activities being requested by OpCos and prioritized by ILT/GCSO.

Role Accountabilities
The role-holder is responsible to lead
- **Craft the terms of reference and approach to the innovation leadership team **and evolve this where needed in close alignment with GCSO and Head of Innovation Mgmt
- **Gauge OpCo agenda interest items pre-meeting, identify emerging needs** and suggest topics for best practice sharing of successes and failures with good lessons learnt
- **Set the content of the agenda for the ILT** to support the innovation strategy and the objectives of the ILT. Clearly provide with agenda decision needs for every ILT meeting upfront
- **Organize the meetings and ensure timely availability of all documents for the ILT members**:

- Advise on suitability of provided documents where needed upfront to achieve agenda objectives with OpCos to the meeting and ensure a high quality discussion can be provided
- **Manage/Run** the Innovation Leadership Team Meetings w/ OpCo Representation and OG
- Establish meeting minutes and **innovation action trackers** and follow through timely on status of those actions as hygiene element for each ILT
- **Review and collect OpCo innovation roadmap**s and establish a given format for this. Consolidate innovation roadmaps for OG and identify gaps/deviations from innovation strategy. Identify also early on opportunities for cross-OpCo “leverage ideas”
- **Support the networking between OpCos as a central hub on best practices **and provide success case trackers and information for inquiring OpCos
- **Track Innovation Mgmt budget**:

- **Coordinate communication about innovation strategy & success cases across OpCos** and general comms around innovation with Group Comms team such as Innovation days/forums where applicable
- **Support Head of Innovation Mgmt with identifying emerging business needs of OpCos **to be addressed through innovation, develop a framework for prioritization of those needs and support the creation of a long/short-list of those needs to be supported
- **Provide input to innovation strategy **from best practices captured and emerging business needs of OpCos angle as well as reviewing overarching innovation trends on driving efficiency (OPEX/CAPEX) or effectiveness (top-line) for telecoms core operations
- Support the Head of Group Innovation Mgmt department with **reviewing and Identifying potential resourcing needs **(skills, capabilities, FTEs and funding) for POCs required, prioritize those along innovation strategy objectives
- Support the lead for innovation strategy in **reviewing Ooredoo internal enablers to drive innovation** in the focus areas.
- **Maintain Innovation KPIs** to measure innovation and service performance, and insure on-going performance management monitoring/reporting to management as needed.
- Support Head of Innovation management to **on-board OpCos for piloting new innovation use cases greenlighted by GCSO/ILT**:
