1. Supervision and Leadership
- Team Management: Oversee the daily activities of welders, fitters, fabricators, and other workshop staff involved in structural steel fabrication.
- Task Assignment: Assign tasks to team members based on their skills and the needs of the project, ensuring that work is evenly distributed and deadlines are met.
- Training and Development: Provide training to new hires and ongoing coaching to existing employees to enhance skills and improve safety and productivity.

2. Production Management
- Work Scheduling: Develop and implement production schedules that align with project timelines and customer requirements.
- Resource Allocation: Ensure the availability of necessary materials, tools, and equipment, and allocate these resources efficiently.
- Process Optimization: Continuously monitor and improve fabrication processes to enhance productivity and reduce waste.

3. Quality Control
- Inspection and Testing: Supervise the inspection and testing of fabricated components to ensure they meet the specified standards and tolerances.
- Compliance: Ensure that all structural steel fabrication meets industry standards, project specifications, and regulatory requirements.
- Defect Resolution: Identify and address defects or inconsistencies in fabricated components, implementing corrective actions as necessary.

4. Safety Management
- Safety Protocols: Ensure that all safety protocols and regulations are strictly followed in the workshop, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe operation of machinery.
- Risk Assessments: Conduct regular safety inspections and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and implement measures to mitigate risks.
- Incident Management: Investigate any accidents or safety incidents, document findings, and implement preventive measures.

5. Coordination and Communication
- Interdepartmental Coordination: Work closely with Production Management and Nesting and detailing team for project specifications and timelines.
- Client Communication: Provide updates to Production Management on the progress of fabrication work, addressing any concerns or changes in requirements.
- Reporting: Prepare and submit regular reports on production metrics, quality control results, and safety performance to senior management.

6. Inventory and Material Management
- Material Handling: Oversee the proper storage, handling, and usage of structural steel and other materials to minimize waste and ensure quality.
- Inventory Control: Monitor inventory levels, order materials as needed, and ensure that stock is available to meet production demands without delays.
- Cost Management: Manage the workshop’s material costs by reducing waste and optimizing the use of resources.

7. Continuous Improvement
- Process Innovation: Identify opportunities to implement new technologies, techniques, and best practices in structural steel fabrication.
- Feedback Utilization: Gather feedback from the workshop team and Management to identify areas for improvement and implement necessary changes.
- Skill Enhancement: Encourage and support continuous learning and development among the workshop team to keep up with industry advancements.

8. Budget and Cost Control
- Budget Adherence: Manage the workshop’s production costs within the allocated budget, identifying cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality.
- Efficiency Improvement: Implement strategies to improve labor efficiency, reduce material waste, and enhance overall workshop productivity.

9. Maintenance and Equipment Management
- Equipment Maintenance: Ensure that all workshop equipment and machinery are properly maintained and serviced regularly to prevent downtime.
- Tool Management: Oversee the availability and proper use of tools and machinery, ensuring they are in good working condition and used safely.

10. Documentation and Record-Keeping
- Production Records: Maintain detailed records of production activities, including material usage, work hours, and quality control results.
- Compliance Documentation: Ensure that all necessary documentation, such as safety checks, quality inspections, and compliance certificates, are completed and stored appropriately.
