**Responsibilities**:

- **Upholstery Repair & Restoration**: Repair and restore existing furniture by removing old fabric, padding, springs, or webbing, and replacing them with new materials as needed.
- **Custom Upholstery**: Create custom upholstered pieces, including selecting materials, cutting fabric, sewing, and assembling furniture according to client specifications.
- **Framework Assembly**: Rebuild or reinforce furniture frames, ensuring they are strong and sturdy for upholstery.
- **Padding & Cushioning**: Attach padding, foam, and other cushioning materials to frames, shaping them as necessary for comfort and aesthetics.
- **Sewing & Finishing**: Operate sewing machines and tools to create tailored covers, piping, tufting, and decorative trims.
- **Client Consultation**: Work with clients to understand their upholstery needs, suggest suitable fabrics, and provide estimates for custom projects.
- **Problem-Solving**: Diagnose and resolve issues with worn-out or broken furniture, including springs, webbing, or structural problems.
- **Quality Assurance**: Ensure all projects are completed to a high standard of craftsmanship and meet client expectations.
- **Tool & Equipment Maintenance**: Maintain and care for upholstery tools, sewing machines, and workshop equipment, ensuring they are in good working order.
- **Time Management**: Organize and prioritize workload to meet production deadlines.

**Skills & Qualifications**:

- **Experience**: Proven experience as an upholsterer, with a strong portfolio of previous work.
- **Craftsmanship**: Skilled in the use of upholstery tools such as staple guns, sewing machines, webbing stretchers, and hand tools.
- **Fabric Knowledge**: Strong understanding of different upholstery fabrics, leathers, and materials, including how they behave during cutting, stitching, and stretching.
- **Attention to Detail**: Meticulous attention to detail in measurements, cutting, and assembly to ensure a polished finish.
- **Physical Ability**: Capable of handling heavy furniture and materials, and comfortable standing for extended periods.
- **Problem-Solving Skills**: Ability to troubleshoot and fix upholstery-related issues.
- **Communication Skills**: Strong interpersonal and communication skills for collaborating with team members and interacting with clients.
- **Creativity**: Ability to design and create unique upholstery pieces in line with client requests.

**Preferred Qualifications**:

- Certification or formal training in upholstery or a related field.
- Experience working with high-end furniture and materials.
- Familiarity with antique furniture restoration.
- Experience with commercial upholstery projects such as for offices, hotels, or restaurants.
