**Role Summary**:
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Research Associate to work in a unique and new research project funded until 2027 by the Qatar Research Development and Innovation Council (QRDI) - Qatar National Research Fund (QNRF) titled “**Family Legacy: Developing a G**rounded Theory about Intergenerational Family Storytelling in Qatar" led by the Doha Institute for Graduate Studies (DI) represented by Dr. Mahasin Saleh the Lead Principal Investigator. The collaborating institutions are Qatar University and Brigham Young University - Idaho. A key aim of the research project is to explore the function, purpose, and benefits of intergenerational family stories in Qatar to develop a grounded theory about intergenerational storytelling in a diverse Arab context. The successful applicant will be based at the DI. The project will operate within the Research & Grants Department.
- The successful applicant should have at least a Master's degree in Journalism, or equivalent experience managing social media platforms and creating eye catching content. At least one year experience in related communications and social media content creation and distribution. Familiarity with Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, Tiktok, and Twitter.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Project copy writing in English and Arabic for social media platforms
- Regularly design social media posts
- video editing software, photo editing, building and managing websites, using platforms such as Squarespace and WordPress
- photography and videography
- Other tasks as directed by the Lead Principal Investigator

**EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS**:
Masters in Journalism or equivalent experience managing social media platforms.

**WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS**:
At least one year experience in related communications and social media content creation and distribution. Familiarity with Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, Tiktok, and Twitter.

**REQUIRED SKILLS**:

- Bilingual—perfect command of English and Arabic both written and spoken.
- Copywriting skills in English and Arabic for social media platforms
- Strong communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
- Experience with video editing software, photo editing, social media platforms like Canva, building and managing websites, using platforms such as Squarespace and WordPress
