**Job Summary**:
The Senior Database Administrator (DBA) will provide high-level database management and support, ensuring the availability, reliability, security, and performance of database systems. This role involves advanced troubleshooting, optimization, and strategic planning for database solutions, contributing to both operational and project-based activities.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Database Management and Support**:

- Install, configure, and upgrade database servers and related tools.
- Ensure high availability and disaster recovery solutions for databases.
- Perform regular database backups and recovery operations.
- **Performance Tuning and Optimization**:

- Analyze and optimize database performance using SQL tuning, indexing, and query optimization.
- Implement best practices for database design, development, and maintenance.
- Resolve complex database issues and identify bottlenecks to improve efficiency.
- **Security Management**:

- Implement and manage database security policies and procedures.
- Ensure data protection and compliance with security regulations.
- Perform regular security audits and vulnerability assessments.
- **Database Development and Design**:

- Collaborate with development teams to design and implement database schemas, tables, procedures, and queries.
- **Strategic Planning and Project Management**:

- Develop and maintain database strategies, including planning for future capacity and scalability.
- Lead or participate in database-related projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
- Document database systems, configurations, and procedures for future reference and compliance.
- **Team Leadership and Mentoring**:

- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior DBAs and other IT staff.
- Conduct training sessions and knowledge-sharing activities to promote best practices in database management.

**Qualifications**:

- **Education and Experience**:

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience as a DBA, with at least 3 years in a senior role.
- Experience with multiple database platforms (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL).
- **Technical Skills**:

- Proficiency in database administration, performance tuning, and optimization.
- Strong understanding of database security, backup/recovery, and high availability strategies.
- Knowledge of cloud database services (e.g., AWS RDS, Azure SQL Database) is a plus.
- Familiarity with database development tools and languages (e.g., SQL, PL/SQL, T-SQL).
- **Soft Skills**:

- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to quality.

**Certifications (preferred)**:

- Oracle Certified Professional (OCP)
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate
- AWS Certified Database - Specialty

**Working Conditions**:

- OnSite, Full-time position
