Corporate Archivist

About the role

Below are some of the key accountabilities:

- Ensures that valuable books, papers, maps, and plans, as well as photographs, prints, films, tapes, videos, and computer-generated records with historic value, are preserved and digitized.
- Develops, arranges, and describes archival collections in accordance to accepted standards and practices.
- Creates easy-to-navigate systems using contemporary tools in accordance with international standards.
- Develops and implements procedures for the acquisition, processing, digitization, and prevention of archival materials.
- Advises and assists users in the use of archival materials.
- Participates in the development and implementation of policies and standards for the archives.
- Responsible for the prevention, handling, and storage of objects, documents, and records.
- Discovers and locates new materials for inclusion in the archive.

About you

Essential qualifications and skills:

- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent with a minimum of 4 years of job-related experience.
- Experience in either library functions or corporate archives.
- Knowledge of automated storage and retrieval systems, electronic records, and electronic publications.
- Experience in archival and preservation concepts, methodology, and techniques.
- Skills in organizing resources and establishing priorities.
- Substantial knowledge of research methodology and skill in providing research assistance.
- Knowledge of archival ethics and regulations governing archival management.
- Use of computer with window-based operating systems.
- Effective communication skills.
- Strong written and verbal English Skills.
