Anaesthesia Consultant

Confirming the site, side, and type of surgery and checking the site marking if applicable
- Verifying the consent for surgery
- Asking for any medication allergy
- Makes sure that the patient receives prophylactic antibiotic before the patient was inducted / anesthetized as needed
- Participates in doing Surgical Safety Checklist
- Responsible for fluid and blood replacement when indicated
- Establishes and maintains standard monitoring throughout the whole anaesthesia process for all the procedures.
- The Anaesthetist is responsible for proper and safe positioning of the patient and for checking site of surgery.
- Communicates with the Surgeon, Radiologist or Physician to provide best possible patients care.
- Responsible for safe transfer and handover of the patient to the recovery room.
- Discharges the patient from the recovery room according to a predetermined scoring system.
- Plans post-operative pain management with the surgeons.
- Supervises clinical associates and residents in training.
- Supervises and directs the Anaesthesia Technologist.

Education Qualifications
- M.D in Anesthesia
- Licensed Consultant Anesthesiologist
- PHD or fellowship
- Arab board Certification
- Current ILS Certification
- Minimum 5 years current Experience working as Anaesthesia consultant
- Having a thorough knowledge in handing anaesthesia equipments as well as other apparatus used.
- Adequate proficiency in both English and Arabic speaking

**Experience**:

- Anaesthesia Consultant: 5 years (preferred)
