Duty Manager

Operational Responsibilities:
- Responsible for all operational activities within the Bonded stores, efficient allocation and utilization of staff to ensure that all bars and stores are packed on time and to specification. Responsible for ensuring a clean, organized and safe work environment within the Bond stores.- Leads the Operational Effectiveness team within the department aimed at cost savings, standardization, simplification and waste reduction.- Responsible for operational communication to the business, ensuring a smooth flow of work between all parties.- Oversees the bars and dry store packing areas, ensuring that everyone has the relevant and most up to date information and that performance is on track.- Responsible for tracking the performance of the bond through the effective monitoring and analysis of the bonded stores Voyage Report’s and implementation of corrective action plan to address shortfalls where appropriate.- Develops and suggest improvement plans to deliver enhanced service and efficiency.- Responsible for vehicle communication allocation and maintenance as required.- Liaise with Integrated Operations Office (IOC) and QACC on any delays and aircraft changes to ensure bars are packed accordingly.- Responsible for ensuring that the Bonded stores adheres to legislation at all times including: Customs, fire, Health and Safety, Food safety, Security, First Aid, Ramp safety and airport procedures.- Perform other department duties related to his/her position as directed by the Head of the Department.- Expert in stock management and Inventory control- Expert in oracle, SAP or other inventory systems
Management & Leadership:
- Establish the department or teams objectives and priorities to align with and support business objectives.- Regularly evaluate the department or teams objectives, plans, procedures and practices, and makes appropriate changes if needed.- Oversee and supervise employees. Direct daily activities, recruit, train, develop and discipline to ensure a high standard of service delivery.- Train and develop other employees, to ensure succession planning is in place.- Required experience of managing warehouse of 5000-6000 pallets (24/7 operations) in a Managerial capacity for minimum 5 years.

Qualifications
Essential- Relevant College or University qualification to min Bachelor’s level in Logistics or Warehouse management.- Warehouse management / Logistic Management expertise.
Preferred- Recognized advanced food safety / hygiene qualification- Management of large multi-cultural staff groups.
Job Specific Skills:
Essential- Time management and understanding of the need for delivery on-time- Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills- Able to work under pressure and on many different projects simultaneously- Proven skills in negotiation, evaluation and decision making- Managerial skills - Ability to delegate work, set clear direction and manage workflow. Strong mentoring and coaching skills. Ability to train and develop subordinate's skills. Ability to foster teamwork among team members.
Preferred- High degree of computer literacy
