Our platform is built on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and supported by on-premises infrastructure. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Cloud and Infrastructure Engineer with expertise in Automation, FinOps, high availability, disaster recovery, and tools like ArgoCD, GitLab, and Terraform to manage our cloud and on-premises infrastructure.

**Position Overview**:
**Key Responsibilities**:
**1 FinOps and Cost Optimization**:

- Implement FinOps best practices to monitor, analyze, and optimize cloud spending across GCP.
- Use tools like Cloud Billing API, Cost Management, and Budget Alerts to track resource usage and identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Collaborate with finance and engineering teams to align cloud spending with business objectives.
- Regularly review and right-size resources (e.g., VMs, storage, databases) to ensure cost-efficiency without compromising performance.

**2 Automation and Infrastructure as Code (IaC)**:

- Automate cloud operations using Terraform to manage infrastructure as code (IaC) and ensure repeatable and consistent deployments.
- Continuously improve automation scripts to reduce manual intervention and improve operational efficiency.

**3 High Availability and Scalability**:

- Design and implement highly available architectures using GCP services like Load Balancers, Regional Managed Instance Groups, and Multi-Region Deployments.
- Ensure auto-scaling is configured for workloads to handle traffic spikes and maintain performance.
- Monitor system health and performance using tools like Stackdriver, Prometheus, and Grafana.

**4 Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity**:

- Develop and maintain a robust disaster recovery plan that includes regular backups, failover mechanisms, and recovery testing.
- Implement multi-region replication for critical data and services to ensure mínimal downtime in case of regional outages.
- Conduct regular disaster recovery drills to test the effectiveness of recovery plans and make necessary improvements.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements for data retention and recovery.

**5 Networking and Security**:

- Configure and manage on premises and cloud firewalls, WAFs, DDoS protection, DNS, and load balancers to ensure secure and reliable network operations.
- Implement and maintain network segmentation, routing, and access controls to protect sensitive data.
- Collaborate with the security team to ensure compliance with industry standards (PCI-DSS, SOC 2).
- Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and implement remediation strategies.

**6 Application Security**:

- Work closely with development teams to integrate security into the CI/CD pipeline using tools like GitLab Security Scanning and Snyk.
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and implement remediation strategies.
- Monitor and respond to security incidents in real-time.

**7 Monitoring and Optimization**:

- Set up monitoring and alerting systems for both cloud and on-premises environments using tools like Cloud Monitoring, Cloud Logging, and Cloud Trace.
- Optimize resource utilization and costs across the infrastructure while maintaining performance and reliability.

**8 Collaboration and Leadership**:

- Provide technical guidance to junior engineers and cross-functional teams.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to align infrastructure strategies with business goals.

**Qualifications**:

- Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience with GCP automation, pipelines, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform.
- Proven expertise in FinOps, cost optimization, and cloud billing management.
- Strong understanding of high availability and disaster recovery strategies in cloud environments.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines using GitLab CI/CD and ArgoCD for GitOps-based continuous delivery.
- Familiarity with compliance frameworks such as PCI-DSS, SOC 2, or GDPR.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
- Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes (GKE), with the ability to deploy new images
- Knowledge of load balancers and Ingress configurations
- Strong understanding of Helm charts

**Preferred Certifications**:

- Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect or Engineer
