**Job Summary**:
The Salesman is responsible for generating sales by providing product knowledge, building customer relationships, and closing deals. This role involves engaging with customers, understanding their needs, and offering tailored solutions. A successful salesman is highly motivated, persuasive, and focused on achieving sales targets while ensuring excellent customer satisfaction.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- **Customer Engagement**: Approach, greet, and assist customers in a friendly and professional manner to identify their needs and preferences.
- **Product Knowledge**: Maintain in-depth knowledge of the company’s products or services and clearly communicate features, benefits, and pricing to customers.
- **Sales Targets**: Achieve or exceed monthly and quarterly sales targets by actively seeking out opportunities to close deals.
- **Demonstrations**: Provide product demonstrations or presentations to customers, explaining how products meet their specific needs.
- **Lead Generation**: Proactively seek new sales opportunities by reaching out to potential customers through cold calling, networking, and referrals.
- **Customer Service**: Address customer inquiries, resolve issues, and follow up on leads to build long-term relationships and ensure repeat business.
- **Negotiation**: Negotiate prices, terms, and contracts with customers, ensuring that both the company and the customer find a mutually beneficial agreement.
- **Reporting**: Track and report on sales activities, leads, and deals using the company’s CRM system. Provide feedback to management about customer preferences and market trends.
- **Product Displays**: Ensure product displays are neat, organized, and visually appealing to attract customers.
- **Follow-Up**: Stay in touch with customers post-sale to ensure satisfaction and encourage referrals and repeat business.
**Required Skills and Qualifications**:
- Proven experience as a salesman or in a similar sales role.
- Strong communication, persuasion, and negotiation skills.
- Excellent customer service abilities with a focus on building lasting relationships.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team to meet sales goals.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Basic math skills for calculating prices, discounts, and handling transactions.
- Familiarity with CRM software and sales tracking tools is preferred.
- A positive attitude, strong work ethic, and ability to thrive in a competitive environment.
**Preferred Qualifications**:
- Previous experience in retail, wholesale, or business-to-business (B2B) sales.
- High school diploma or equivalent (additional sales training or education is an advantage).
- Knowledge of the specific industry or product category being sold.
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
**Physical Requirements**:
- Ability to stand for long periods, especially in retail settings.
- Capability to lift and move products as required (depending on industry).
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays, depending on the store's hours of operation.
