About the role

Ensure Qatar Duty Free (QDF) and Qatar Aviation Services (QAS) Excess Baggage and Porterage Finance Cash Office daily and monthly deliverables are met by ensuring sales collection are correctly computed, deposited to the bank and timely accounting in the system. Provide guidance and training to the QDF and QAS Excess Baggage and Porterage Finance Cash Office staff as per the relevant Internal Accounting Procedures (IAP) and Standard Operating Procedure (SOP). Co-ordinate with sales operation management to resolve any issues which involved the QDF and Qatar QAS Excess Baggage and Porterage Finance Cash Office

Roles and Responsibilities

Responsible to ensure QDF and QAS (Excess Baggage and Porterage) sales collection from all location are collected, accounted and reconciled in system with reports available for all concerned.
- Verify collection deposited in Bank to ensure it is reconciled with system and Cash in Transit (CIT) receipts.
- Check journal voucher for bank deposit and concessionaries payments passed by Finance cash office staff.
- Review all bank reconciliations and ensure to timely close any outstanding item.
- Monitor and confirmed that all the assigned works for cash office supervisors are completed. Implement the check list to confirm they are following and do signed off by every month.
- Ensure that the inventory list of all QDF retail shops cash floats and QAS EBT and porterage are timely maintained by cash office supervisors.
- Ensure necessary sales posting and financial entries are updated in Oracle ERP before monthly closing.
- Review reconciliation of all the General Ledger accounts for the sales collection prepared by supervisors on monthly basis before submission to the Lead Finance Officer.
- Ensure the inventory list for credit card machine is maintained by cash office supervisors. Notify bank for the lost and damages of credit card machine.
- Perform new currency features update in the system whenever any new currency is released and ensure it is communicated to the sales operation team for their information.
- Ensure soil currency ledger value is updated monthly as per the bank exchange rate and necessary Journal Voucher entries are passed in the system.
- Perform regular checks to ensure that cash bags requirement for shops each day are maintain by cash office supervisors. Check and maintain sufficient reserve stock by timely communicating with procurement.
- Provide guidance and training to QDF and QAS finance cash office team as per relevant Internal Accounting Procedures (IAP) and Standard Operating Procedures.
- Assist line manager/department in new ERP implementation by providing provide necessary requirements and changes for smooth implementation.
- Establish the department or teams’ objectives and priorities to align with and support business objectives.
- Regularly evaluate the department or teams’ objectives, plans, procedures and practices, and makes appropriate changes if needed.
- Oversee and supervise employees. Direct daily activities, recruit, train, develop and discipline to ensure a high standard of service delivery.
- Ensure the monthly roster is prepared with necessary staff requirements and staff annual leaves are approved based on the leave plan.
- Train any new joining staff and ensure the probation evaluation reports are maintained properly by supervisors and report to HR department. Train and develop other employees, to ensure succession planning is in place.
- Perform other department duties related to his/her position as directed by the Head of the Department

- High School Qualification / Vocational Qualification /Diploma or Equivalent (Type of Diploma Based on Role)/ Bachelor’s Degree with Minimum 4 years of job-related experience
- Good understanding of cashiering process.
- Experience in managing staff in multicultural environment.
- Good communication skills.
