With the strategic rapid growth of our luxury brands in Qatar at IHG Hotels and Resorts, we are looking for a seasoned Electrician with luxury and lifestyle brand hotel experiences to join our team in Doha.

Just a stone’s throw from the many favourite sights of the Qatari capital, the hotel will welcome guests and locals to experience its 283 guest rooms, including suites and serviced apartments, and to enjoy a multitude of unique dining options.

Here’s a little taste of your day-to-day:

- Carries out routine maintenance and repairs to all types of electrical equipment such as laundry equipment, kitchen equipment, heating, ventilation and air-conditioning equipment including motors and motor controls, fans, water treatment plants, sewage treatment plants, and emergency generators.
- Attends to repair and maintenance of transformers and electrical low-tension panels.
- Attends to electrical and ancillaries’ installations such as audio/video cables, computer cables and MATV systems.
- Attends to all types of repairs and maintenance work in the hotel premises, including any new additional/extensions to the hotel or any other properties maintained by the hotel.
- Responds to a guest maintenance request within 15 minutes on receipt of the same.
- Ensures that the supplied uniform is clean and in good repair.
- Always maintain a clean and tidy appearance before entering a guest or public areas.
- Ensures that the plant room, workshop and related areas are kept clean and tidy condition.
- Observes prescribed safety standards. Helps maintain safe conditions for self and others.
- Performs related duties and special projects as assigned.
- Responsible for carrying out work as planned Preventive Maintenance Troubleshooting and repair of various types of light fixtures
- Provide mechanic cover when required
- Ability to plan, troubleshoot, repair, fill out requisitions for items that need to be sent for repair new part requirements with proper specifications
- Perform installation and maintenance of power distribution, AC and DC electric motors, PLCs, VSD, smart controls, and motion control systems
- Read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings and electrical code specifications to determine wiring diagram and installations
- Install, program, and troubleshoot PLC based equipment
- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance activities on equipment
- Ability to work any assigned schedule to include rotating shifts, overtime, weekends and holidays if needed
- Perform basic machine controls and drives troubleshooting and repair skill
- Answer service or trouble calls
- Replaces electric motor bearings and rewires motors
- Perform inspections, preventative and corrective maintenance
- Comply with all Corporate Environmental Health & Safety policies & procedures
- Maintain a successful completion of accredited electrical maintenance apprenticeship program
- Ability to read one-line distribution drawings and electrical schematics
- Knowledge of electrical measuring instruments (multi-meters, oscilloscopes, meggers, et al)
- Runs conduit and pulls electrical wire to wire new and used equipment
- Repair and Maintenance of existing electrical installations throughout the facility
- Effectively and accurately troubleshoot and make routine adjustments and repairs to DC and AC systems including (but not limited to) contactors, relays, VFDs, starters, motors, rectifiers, brakes, sensors, controls systems, and PLC components in order to maintain production and maintenance schedules
- Have knowledge in isolation of equipment, perform retrofits, upgrades, and/or modifications of broken or obsolete equipment to accomplish such replacements
- Maintenance of batteries and UPS systems
- Maintenance of LV and MV motors and systems
- Self-starter and able to work with mínimal direct supervision

**What We need from you**:

- Advance vocational training
- Four years’ experience in general building maintenance and/or construction or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Specialized expertise in electrical fields
- Hotel experience preferred
- Professional certification and license if required by law
