OFFSHORE PROJECTS

**Primary purpose of job**:

- Direct and be responsible for the project ‘s Welding and NDT relevant activities, welding engineering and NDT technology

as associated with the offshore steel structural, piping and offshore pipeline, Welding & NDT Quality Controls / Quality

Assurance, of the IS Projects and ensure they are in compliance with QatarEnergy Corporate standards and Directorate

Procedures, Departmental Guidelines and relevant International Standards / Shell DEPs requirements
- Focal point and Subject Matter Expert (SME) responsible for all welding / NDT technical support, expertise, reviews, and

supervision of the preparation of the project welding & NDT specifications, procedures and ITPs.
- Extensive practical offshore field experiences in the area of welding and NDT, including CRA materials, sour service

conditions, for all offshore brown and green fields.

**Experience & Skills**
1. Minimum of 15 years’ experience in the Offshore oil and gas industry with an Oil and Gas Company or

Consultant/Contractor, of which at least 10 years with sour service projects. Work experience in the Arabian Gulf Countries

is desirable.

2. Lead or Principal role with full technical responsibility for welding, and NDT engineering activities. Exposure to RCA and

failure investigation as relevant to Welding and NDT is preferable.

3. Proven experience and strong knowledge of the role of Senior Welding Engineer, for sour service projects in the Oil &
Gas industry, with major IOC, NOC and/or major engineering companies during early design (pre-FEED and FEED) and

EPIC stages of medium to large projects

Non-conventional NDT Techniques (AUT, PAUT, MFL, TOFD, EMI etc.) knowledge and qualifications are preferable.

5. Familiar with international welding / NDT codes, Shell DEPs for offshore steel structural, metallurgy, piping, valves, CRA,

Fittings, risers’ spools, subsea spools and offshore pipeline.

Quality Control practices. Working knowledge in construction, welding &NDT is essential. He should be familiar with

engineering specification of other O&G majors in petroleum offshore Oil and Gas industry.

2. IRCA (International Register of Certificated Auditors) - or equivalent - approved Lead Auditor for one of the IMS
