**Key Responsibilities**:
- Provide advanced clinical care to pediatric patients in the PICU, managing critically ill children with a wide range of medical and surgical conditions.
- Lead and oversee the management of pediatric patients with life-threatening conditions, ensuring timely and effective interventions.
- Collaborate closely with other pediatric specialists, surgeons, and healthcare providers to design and implement comprehensive care plans.
- Conduct daily rounds in the PICU, ensuring appropriate documentation of patient status, treatment plans, and progress.
- Supervise and mentor junior medical staff, residents, and fellows, providing guidance on patient care and clinical decision-making.
- Participate in on-call shifts, responding to emergencies and providing critical care when needed.
- Monitor and evaluate the quality of care provided in the PICU, ensuring compliance with hospital protocols, safety standards, and best practices.
- Engage in research, clinical audits, and continuous quality improvement initiatives to advance patient care in the PICU.
- Participate in departmental meetings, case discussions, and continuing education opportunities to stay abreast of developments in pediatric critical care.
- Contribute to the training and development of medical staff in the pediatric and neonatal specialties.
**Qualifications**:
- A specialty degree in the relevant field, 3 years of post-specialty experience in a governmental, semi-governmental, or teaching hospital
- Board certification in Pediatrics with specialized training and certification in Pediatric Critical Care (PICU).
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in Pediatric Intensive Care, including experience as a consultant or senior clinician.
- Proven expertise in the management of critically ill pediatric patients, with a solid understanding of intensive care protocols, ventilator management, and advanced life support techniques.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a collaborative multidisciplinary team.
- Excellent teaching and mentoring skills.
- Proficiency in electronic health record systems and medical documentation.
**Preferred Qualifications**:
- Fellowship or additional certifications in Pediatric Critical Care or related fields.
- Involvement in pediatric critical care research or academic publications.
- Experience with advanced PICU technologies and equipment.
