A Demi Chef de Partie (Pastry) is responsible for preparing and presenting high quality dishes to deliver an excellent Guest and Member experience while consistently contributing to departmental targets.
**What will I be doing?**
As a Demi Chef de Partie (Pastry), you are responsible for preparing and presenting high quality dishes to deliver an excellent Guest and Member experience. A Demi Chef de Partie (Pastry) will also be required to prepare all mis-en-place and contribute to departmental targets. Specifically, you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:
- Pastry Preparation and Presentation: Prepare and present a variety of high-quality pastries, desserts, and baked goods, ensuring they meet the established standards of excellence.
- Mise en Place: Prepare all necessary mise en place for pastry and dessert menus, ensuring efficiency and organization in the kitchen.
- Quality Control: Maintain consistent food production in line with the high-quality standards expected by the establishment, ensuring every dish meets guest expectations.
- Food Cost Management: Contribute to kitchen revenue by managing food costs effectively and minimizing waste.
- Support the Culinary team: Assist and collaborate with other culinary staff to ensure smooth operations and efficient service.
- Hygiene and Cleanliness: Keep all work areas clean, organized, and free from cross-contamination, adhering to health and safety regulations.
- Maintenance Reporting: Report any maintenance, hygiene, or hazard issues to maintain a safe working environment.
- Regulatory Compliance: Comply with all hotel security, fire regulations, and health and safety and food safety legislation.
- Team Collaboration: Strive to achieve departmental targets and foster a positive team environment through collaboration and support.
- Sustainability Awareness: Be environmentally conscious and contribute to sustainable kitchen practices.
**What are we looking for?**
A Commis Chef serving Hilton brands is always working on behalf of our Guests and working with other Team Members. To successfully fill this role, you should maintain the attitude, behaviours, skills, and values that follow:
- Previous experience in a pastry role
- Strong knowledge of pastry techniques and presentation.
- NVQ Level 1
- Positive attitude
- Good communication skills
- Ability to work under pressure
- Proven ability to work with a team and to follow instruction
- A passion to learn and a drive to succeed in a culinary/hospitality career
- Proof of completion in a basic food hygiene course
- A passion for food and the culinary arts
- Completion of an accredited commercial cookery course or trade apprenticeship
- Experience multi-tasking and working in an environment with rigorous standards
It would be advantageous in this position for you to demonstrate the following capabilities and distinctions:
- NVQ Level 2
