**Job Overview**

As a barista, your main responsibilities include creating and updating the coffee menu, ensuring the quality and consistency of beverages, maintaining inventory and supplies, and providing excellent customer service.

**Responsibilities & Duties**
- Ensuring compliance with health, hygiene, and safety policies at all times.
- Managing inventory of coffee beans, brewing equipment, pastries, and cookies for the coffee bar.
- Familiarizing oneself with all of the menu items.
- Operating equipment by following operating procedures, troubleshooting breakdowns, and performing preventive maintenance, while informing the Owner of any issues.
- Maintaining and suggesting improvements to the appearance of the store and coffee bar.
- Informing the Owner of any operational inconsistencies.
- Maintaining high team motivation to ensure quality and consistent product.
- Greeting customers and delivering excellent customer service.
- Preparing beverages and food to a high standard of taste and quality.
- Making recommendations to customers and answering any questions.
- Managing orders for stock and coffee supplies.
- Maintaining and cleaning coffee machines.
- Monitoring and maintaining hygiene and cleaning standards.
- Liaising with coffee roasters and management to ensure the smooth running of operations and delivery of quality products.

**Competency (knowledge, skills, & abilities)**
- 2 years of experience as a Barista
- Strong communication skills.
- Multi-tasking, time management and organizational skills.
- Confidence to train new members of staff.
- Creativity and problem-solving skills.
- Leadership skills.
