Additionally, this person should be able to analyze intricate issues on behalf of external and internal clients, evaluating various alternative solutions.

**The role**
- Conduct and oversee relevant activities, providing advice and proposing alternative solutions for service delivery in areas of expertise, while adhering to budget constraints and contractual requirements within defined Marine KPIs.
- Ensure that all deliverables produced by the office meet internal and external requirements in terms of budget, time, and quality. Take responsibility for reviewing and monitoring work activities.
- Engage in discussions and presentations with internal and external clients, including senior-level stakeholders, and offer suitable solutions as needed.
- Perform activities in compliance with internal procedures, accreditation schemes, legislation, and industry standards.
- Pursue Continuous Professional Development to maintain a high level of discipline, knowledge, and awareness.
- Assess or recommend the appropriate time and value for external client work, agreeing on the most suitable fee and cost structure up to the authorization level.
- Make recommendations based on internal and external client feedback to contribute to internal and external process improvement, enhance service delivery, and support business development efforts in collaboration with the local Business Development team.
- Monitor time bookings to ensure they fall within permissible ranges, and understand the reasons for any additional or reduced time taken, with appropriate indication for charging increased fees if applicable.
- Ensure that personal and colleagues' authorizations are up to date, and plan for refresher learning and development through the performance review process.
- Undertake necessary administration tasks in line with current processes and procedures.
- Assist in surveyor recruitment for the respective area of responsibility, participating in relevant technical interviews.
- Lead surveys for specific high-risk activities within their area of expertise and knowledge.
- Manage and develop a team of Lead, Senior Surveyors, and Surveyors to maintain an effective and competitive service. This includes recruitment, performance management, training/development, and work allocation.
- Continuously enhance the competencies of employees through learning and development planning.
- Be responsible for ensuring Activity Monitoring is carried out and reported in accordance with management system requirements.

**What you bring**
- A degree or an equivalent qualification from a tertiary organization recognized by Lloyd's Register in the relevant field of engineering or physical science. The degree program should have been a minimum of two years in duration.
- Or Qualifications from a marine or nautical institution, along with relevant sea-going experience as a certificated ship's officer.
- Membership in an appropriate professional institution.
- Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status.
- Proficiency in the English language at a level commensurate with the requirements of the work.
