**Primary purpose of job**

The primary purpose of the job is to prepare wireline (slickline) intervention programs for wells in the Dukhan field and

thereafter supervise the execution of the program to ensure the operations are performed in accordance with QatarEnergy

requirements. Additional responsibilities include assisting with the preparation of tender documents for the slickline service

contract, providing input to wireline section’s budget and writing operational procedures.

1. Prepare wireline intervention programs and thereafter oversee the execution of the operations performed by the wireline

contractor to ensure the work is performed safely and efficiently in accordance with QatarEnergy requirements.

2. Ensure the implementation of HSE requirements as stated in QatarEnergy Corporate procedures and the Drilling

Reference Manual (DRM) including the active participation of all service company personnel in the HSE observation

programme, to prevent HSE incidents while assuring the integrity of the well and the site.

3. Ensure that all risks related to wireline activities have been adequately identified and communicated and that HSE

controls such as PTW, JSA, and Pre-job safety meetings are rigorously followed to ensure the safety of people, protection

of the environment and the integrity of the operation.

4. Provide expert operational input to resolve wireline related problems such as: fishing for stuck tools and securing wells

where normal integrity has been lost to ensure the safety of personnel and the protection of the environment, while also

achieving the operational objectives without lost time. Unsuccessful wireline fishing operations can lead to deferred

production and costly workover operations.

5. Generate and maintain reports such as the daily wireline activity report, weekly well plans; monthly achievements versus

plan; statistical performance data and specific technical reports on wireline problems which shall include the underlying

causes of the problem, the remedial action and recommendation to avoid reoccurrence.

6. Assists in preparation of the Wireline Sections capital and operating budget to ensure that the anticipated expenditure is

adequately covered and that actions have been taken to minimize cost in accordance with the Departments cost

optimization objectives.

7. Supervise and monitor the wireline contractor’s performance including the regular inspection of the contractor’s yard to

ensure compliance with QatarEnergy’s HSE requirements and their obligations related to equipment and personnel.

8. Maintain the inventory of the Wireline Sections (UDS/13) equipment and spare parts and raise the required purchase

orders for replenishing the stock to ensure there is always adequate stock of redressing kits and plugs.

9. Provide input to the technical part of tender documents for the provision of wireline equipment and services and

contribute to the technical evaluation of bids to ensure the awarded contracts are fit for purpose and satisfy QatarEnergy

technical standards.

10. Participate in development and training of Qatari and non-Qatari employees and ensure the completion of various

on-job-training programs for development trainees to help achieve QatarEnergy targets for Qatarization.

**Experience & Skills**:

- At least 10 years’ experience in the supervision of wireline activities
- Experience with H2S operations.
- Fluent in English (demonstrated verbal and written skills)
- Strong leadership and people management skills.
- Commitment and passion for managing HSE.
- Ability to make operational decisions based on analytical problem solving.
- Must be conversant with various oil industry norms / specifications like API standards on equipment and the practices.

**Education**:

- BSc (3- 4 year) degree from an accredited University is preferred, although in exceptional cases a lower level of education

can be accepted with a strong record of success in a similar role.
