**Senior Pavement Engineer, Operations & Maintenance**
- Preferably with Roads experiences in Qatar with Australian Road Maintenance and Operation.
- The **Senior Pavement Engineer** is part of the shared services team and will be providing all necessary assistance to the construction team with respect to all pavement design\material\construction submittals, approvals, testing, sampling, etc. He will participate in the quality control of pavement including all the laboratory and field-testing, acceptance of used materials, checking and accepting all remedial and corrective measures.

**DEGREE IN RELEVANT POSITION**
- Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering with 15 years demonstrable experience in all aspects of civil supervision on major road, highway and general infrastructure projects preferably in the Gulf region.

- Chartered Engineer or Professional Engineer registration is preferred.
- Emphasis on Quality Assurance Specifications and Statistical Quality Control.
- Should be able to review and justify the material submissions analyse laboratory and technical reports, carry out acceptance sampling plans, testing and quality measures, ensuring the compliance with the project’s Specifications.
- Must have a sound knowledge about contractual relationships.
- Must be fully computer literate and able to utilize computer technology to access data, maintain records, generate reports, etc. and any project specific engineering and construction relevant software.
- Must be fluent in English both written and spoken with an excellent capability in written technical skills as well as oral and written communication skills.

**EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS**
- To review design reports, specification and tender documents for pavement works.
- To ensure project quality system is applied during pavement construction. Understanding of pavement design methodologies and method of construction.
- Ensure very close and clear coordination of his team activities with the other construction supervision staff.
- Pavement evaluation using available technology and equipment.
- Understanding pavement layout (horizontal and vertical alignment), singing, pavement marking and street furniture.
- Understanding of General, Project specification, tender documents and international standards (AASHTO, BS, and ASTM, etc.)
- Understanding Operating Procedures (NCR, ITP, RIFT, IR, etc.).
- Supervise, participate and direct sampling and testing\analysis of all pavement materials per the contract and the specifications.
- Maintain records of test results and all taken corrective actions.
- Provide inputs on changes/variations/claims related to pavement, if any.
- Liaison and coordination with client, concerned authorities, consultant, sub-contractor and contractor.
- Prequalification and evaluation of contractor, sub-contractor.
- Audit of pavement material production facilities including hot mix plant, road base, crushing plants and laying site equipment.
- Inspection of finished pavement works and assist in preparation of snag list/completion of works/maintenance schedule for maintenance period.
- Track and review the site testing and certificates of compliance.
- Follow up and verify implementation of corrective actions.
- Coordinate the review and approval of specialty and other high profile materials with PWA/PMC and other stakeholders as directed by the SRE.
- Ensure inspection and checking of all delivered materials to site for conformance to the project requirements and approval.
