**Job Summary and Purpose**:
The Maintenance Engineer is responsible for proper functioning of Equipment in industrial workshops. The Maintenance Engineer leverages deep understanding of maintenance strategies in-order to contribute to day-to-day operational maintenance expertise and leadership and supports the Head of Maintenance in monitoring and implementing the strategies for managing the shipyards assets throughout their lifecycle. All works is executed to a high quality & auditable standard that is consistent with the companies integrated management systems and policies. As an officer, a high level of trade skill and experience is demanded and is expected to be demonstrably applied to technical problems and monitoring of trades employees.

1) Develops a deep understanding of the yard specific maintenance strategy and supports the Head of Maintenance in breaking strategy down into short to medium time horizon work plans and tactics. Supports the implementation of all aspect of the Maintenance Strategy.
2) Maintain CNC Equipment, PLC based Equipment, Hydraulic Equipment, Lathe machines, Roll press Machines, Plate cutting machines, Welding machines, blasting and painting equipment.
3) Maintain Equipments in all the workshop facilities.
4) Maintain utilities in all the workshop facilities.
5) Maintain civil and structure of all the workshop facilities.
6) Ensure proper functioning of electrical, electronic and communication components of the equipment.
7) Prepare and manage all spare parts required for the maintenance of the Equipment and related assets
8) Assist Head of Maintenance in the preparation of maintenance strategies to reduce failure rates of equipment and improve maintenance KPI.
9) Prepare RCA reports and provide Head of Maintenance with proposals for preventing repeat failures and ensuring lessons learned.
10) Prepare scope of work and tender documentation for sub-contractors.
11) Supervise sub-contractors and ensure compliance with scope of work.
12) Lead and supervise maintenance technicians.
14) Maintain maintenance records.
15) Coordinate with relevant authorities and obtain approvals for any changes to systems and structures.
16) Communicate upwards - training needs, process improvement suggestions and follow up on implementation.
17) Schedule and prioritize work considering all available resources.

20) Follow all safety procedures and report lapses, if any. Monitors yard facilities and reports to the Head of Maintenance.
21) Ensure that SAP Module is maintained according to the schedule.
22) Implement and monitor compliance to department budgets and raises any deviation requirement.
23) Monitors approved sub-contractors.
24) Demonstrates leadership at a monthly section review meeting.
25) Supports execution of daily operations, making sure maintenance plans are met.
26) Contribute with timely updates and inputs such as lead and lag indication data to inform stakeholders to support internal decision making and performance review processes.
27) Model a collaborative and cross-organizational relationship within and between maintenance and operations and support functions to ensure alignment to desired high performance culture.
28) Foster an engaging culture of safety and productive work through role modelling NKOM’s values. Ensure compliance with health, safety, security, and environment standards.
29) Ensure achievement of key performance indicators & address performance issues.
30) Performs any other assigned duties and responsibilities.
