**Summary**:
Writing and producing stories for news programmes using all Al Jazeera's network content and news agency material. In this role you will be producing packages from the field (if needed), writing and producing graphics, writing straps and producing guest segments

**Contract Type**: Temporary (Visa & Accommodation provided)
**Key Responsibilities**:

- Produce accurate, impartial, informative, up-to-date copy
- Must be able to video edit
- Ensure content and coverage is consistent with Aljazeera standards.
- Read in and have an overview of international updates through all available sources (news wires, other agencies, newspapers, etc.)
- Participate in the editorial meeting and propose ideas on what news stories need more coverage and content development.
- Prioritize writing tasks to deliver stories on time
- Screen the reports received from the reporters and review packages and make changes or adjustments if needed
- Prepare the straps for stories in the news bulletins
- Work with creative on creating video walls and producing sections for certain shows.
- Contact news desk to follow up with correspondents on supporting information
- Coordinate with the interview producers on scheduled guests
- Coordinate with the presenters, technical director and studio crew to ensure the proper implementation of production plans and time schedules

**You will have**:

- Bachelor Degree in Journalism, Media, Communication or other related fields
- Minimum 3 years of professional experience in a newsroom as a journalist
- Script editing, television productions/editing and news judgment skills
- Knowledge in current affairs, global affairs & TV production and technology
