Doha, Qatar Sherborne Qatar School for Girls Full time

We are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic, hardworking and highly motivated SENDCo to join our team.

The SENDCo will support and provision for pupils who have Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), are Able, Gifted and Talented (AGT) or are Bi and Multi-lingual Learners (BML). This is a key role in supporting the family-orientated ethos of the school, by ensuring we cater for the needs of all our pupils. This post also supports our commitment to knowing all our pupils (and their parents) as individuals and subsequently providing holistic, individualised support for our pupils.

This is a fantastic opportunity for teachers to gain experience in one of the premier independent British Curriculum schools in the Middle East. It is a very exciting time to be joining our fabulous school as we continue our expansion.

Successful applicants **must **have:
**Essential**
- A certified teaching qualification and QTS such as a PGCE, B.Ed, PGDE.
- The NASENCo, iSENCo, or equivalent leadership qualification and SEND experience.
- A minimum of four years teaching experience.
- Experience of leading and managing staff.
- Experience of implementing whole school change.
- Experience in teaching second language learners.
- Experience of assisting children on an individual basis, in small group and whole class work.
- A high level of written and spoken English.
- Experience of teaching in British curriculum schools.
- A proven track record of providing outstanding teaching and learning.
- Committed to ensuring high standards of teaching and learning.
- Collaborative and able to work as part of a team.
- Inter-culturally aware with well-developed interpersonal skills.
- A willingness to contribute in a positive manner to all aspects of the school vision, including extra-curricular activities.

**Desirable** qualities:

- Qualifications in psychometric assessment and access arrangements (CPT3A).
- Leading and managing learning support across a mainstream secondary school or mainstream primary.
- Experience of teaching internationally.
- Child protection trained.
- First aid trained.

**HOW TO APPLY**:
Successful applicants will be required to travel to Qatar around 21st August 2024 for induction training.

Sherborne Qatar School for Girls, a STEM School, opened in a new purpose-built school building in January 2021 on a brand-new site near Doha Festival City, Qatar. The school is for girls from Pre-School to Year 12 and is marketed equally to local pupils and expats, but the majority of girls comes from the local community.

This is in the best traditions of British education and is the educational philosophy behind the girls’ school.

In order to achieve this vision, we are seeking to appoint enthusiastic and innovative teaching professionals to join our school and help our Headmistress develop our ethos inside and outside of the classroom.
