**Job Overview**:
We are seeking a skilled **IT Specialist **to join our team at a defense company based in Doha, Qatar. The IT Specialist will be responsible for managing the company’s IT infrastructure, ensuring the security of all networks and systems, and providing technical support to ensure smooth operations. This role requires an individual with a strong understanding of cybersecurity, particularly in high-security environments such as the defense sector, along with experience in managing enterprise-level IT solutions. The IT Specialist will play a critical role in safeguarding sensitive information, maintaining system efficiency, and supporting the company’s technological needs.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- **IT Infrastructure Management**:

- Oversee the company’s IT systems, including servers, networks, and databases, ensuring they are properly maintained and upgraded as needed.
- Monitor system performance to ensure high levels of security and availability, diagnosing and resolving any technical issues promptly.
- Manage hardware and software installations, configurations, and updates.
- **Cybersecurity & Data Protection**:

- Implement and manage robust cybersecurity protocols to protect against potential threats, such as hacking, data breaches, and malware.
- Ensure compliance with local and international defense industry regulations regarding the handling of sensitive data, such as ITAR (International Traffic in Arms Regulations).
- Conduct regular security audits, vulnerability assessments, and penetration testing to maintain a high-security environment.
- Educate staff on cybersecurity best practices and develop disaster recovery plans for potential system outages or security incidents.
- **Network Administration**:

- Maintain, troubleshoot, and optimize network infrastructure, ensuring seamless connectivity for internal and external communications.
- Configure firewalls, VPNs, and other network security tools to protect the company’s internal systems from external threats.
- Manage user access controls and permissions in line with company policies, ensuring that only authorized personnel have access to sensitive systems.
- **Technical Support & Troubleshooting**:

- Provide technical support to staff, responding to IT-related issues in a timely manner and resolving problems efficiently.
- **Systems Integration & Maintenance**:

- Regularly maintain systems and perform backups to prevent data loss, ensuring business continuity in the event of system failure.
- **Collaboration & Vendor Management**:

- Collaborate with external vendors and service providers to manage contracts, troubleshoot issues, and ensure the timely delivery of IT services.
- Evaluate and recommend new technologies, hardware, and software to enhance the company’s operational efficiency.

**Key Qualifications**:

- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in IT support, network administration, or system security, preferably within the defense or government sector.
- Extensive knowledge of network infrastructure management, system security, and cybersecurity best practices.
- Familiarity with defense industry regulations, such as ITAR and other international arms compliance standards.
- Experience in configuring firewalls, VPNs, and enterprise-level cybersecurity tools.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.
- Ability to work in a high-security environment, handling sensitive information with confidentiality and discretion.

**Preferred Qualifications**:

- Experience working in a defense-related company or government agency.
- Certifications in IT security, such as CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional) or CISM (Certified Information Security Manager).
- Familiarity with high-security protocols, such as ISO 27001 or similar standards.
- Fluency in English; knowledge of Arabic is an advantage.
