We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Procurement Engineer with a strong background in Mechanical Engineering to join our team. The Procurement Engineer will play a critical role in sourcing, purchasing, and managing mechanical components and equipment necessary for our projects. This role requires a deep understanding of mechanical systems, materials, and manufacturing processes, along with excellent negotiation and communication skills to ensure the timely and cost-effective procurement of goods while maintaining quality standards.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Sourcing and Supplier Management**:_
- Identify and evaluate potential suppliers for mechanical components, equipment, and materials.
- Maintain a database of approved suppliers and conduct regular supplier performance evaluations.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, negotiating terms, pricing, and delivery schedules.
- **Procurement Strategy**:_
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define procurement strategies aligned with project requirements and budget constraints.
- Analyze market trends and maintain awareness of industry developments to make informed procurement decisions.
- **Technical Evaluation**:_
- Review technical specifications and drawings to ensure purchased items meet project requirements.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to understand technical requirements and translate them into procurement specifications.
- **Cost Management**:_
- Identify cost-saving opportunities through negotiation, competitive bidding, and supplier selection.
- Monitor and control procurement budgets to optimize spending without compromising quality.
- **Quality Control**_: _
- Implement quality assurance measures to ensure purchased items meet required standards.
- Participate in supplier audits and inspections to verify quality compliance.
- **Supply Chain Coordination**:_
- Coordinate with logistics and warehouse teams to ensure smooth delivery and storage of procured items.
- Manage the flow of goods to meet project schedules and minimize production disruptions.
- **Documentation and Reporting**:_
- Maintain accurate procurement records, including purchase orders, contracts, and supplier communications.
- Generate reports on procurement activities, including cost analysis and supplier performance metrics.
- **Risk Management**:_
- Identify and mitigate potential risks related to procurement, such as supply chain disruptions or quality issues.
- Develop contingency plans to address unforeseen challenges.

**Qualifications and Skills**:

- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Proven experience in procurement, preferably in a mechanical engineering or manufacturing environment.
- Strong technical understanding of mechanical systems, materials, and manufacturing processes.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in procurement software and tools.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
- Knowledge of industry regulations, quality standards, and best practices.
- Familiarity with supply chain management principles.
