**Key Responsibilities**:
**Maintenance Management**:

- Develop and implement comprehensive maintenance programs for all hospital equipment, systems, and infrastructure, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, medical equipment, and building structures.
- Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance activities to identify and address potential issues before they escalate.
- Coordinate with external vendors and contractors for specialized maintenance services as needed.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and safety protocols in all maintenance activities.

**Team Leadership**:

- Supervise and provide leadership to the maintenance team, including hiring, training, and performance management.
- Delegate tasks effectively, prioritize workload, and ensure the team operates efficiently to meet departmental goals.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement within the maintenance department.

**Budgeting and Resource Management**:

- Develop and manage the departmental budget, including forecasting expenses, monitoring spending, and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
- Maintain inventory of supplies, tools, and equipment necessary for maintenance activities, ensuring adequate stock levels while minimizing waste.

**Emergency Response and Disaster Preparedness**:

- Develop and implement emergency response plans to address potential disruptions to hospital operations, such as power outages, equipment failures, or natural disasters.
- Coordinate with other departments to ensure readiness and effective response during emergencies.

**Compliance and Documentation**:

- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, equipment manuals, inspection reports, and compliance documentation.
- Stay updated on regulatory requirements and industry best practices related to maintenance and facility management.
- Preparation and reviews of ‘Permit to Work’, Job Hazard Analysis, Risk Assessments etc.

**Continuous Improvement**:

- Identify opportunities to optimize maintenance processes, streamline workflows, and improve efficiency.
- Implement performance metrics and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to monitor departmental performance and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

**Qualifications**:

- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical/ Mechanical) with UPDA, Facilities Management, or related field required; Master's degree preferred.
- Proven experience (15 - 20 years) in facilities management, preferably in a healthcare setting.
- Strong technical knowledge of building systems, equipment, and maintenance best practices.
- Demonstrated leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop staff.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with staff at all levels and external stakeholders.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements and standards related to healthcare facilities management (HTM/ JCI/ HSG/ NFPA etc.).
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Certification in facilities management or related field (e.g., CFM, CHFM) is a plus.
