**About the role**

We are hiring for your skills to focuses on working with Qatar based media and other stakeholders such as government bodies, the public, charities, and schools. Plan and put into place, information and communication plans that present the airline externally and internally in a positive light. Ensures good communication flow in Qatar, working closely with the Qatar commercial team and local media. Review and proof-read Arabic press releases and all promotional materials including annual report and other promotional materials. Manage media relationships in Qatar and portray a positive image and reputation of the company among key internal/external stakeholders in Qatar.

Other operational duties would include:

- Identify and explore story ideas, picture opportunities and maximise PR benefits within QR group.
- Leverage Qatar Airways news in Qatar through media relationships and relevant stakeholders.
- Manage and implement Qatar Airways’ corporate communications plan in Qatar and work closely with relevant stakeholders such as commercial team Qatar, Government and Semi-Government entities, and Ministries.
- Responsible for proof-reading and editing promotional documents including press releases, annual report and promotional materials in Arabic.
- Review Arabic newspapers and send local media coverage highlighting QR news and industry key stories for management.
- Assist in sending out press releases through the company’s IT platforms and handling media relations, both Arabic and English media, managing calls and requests and enquiries.
- Manage all requests from local media in Qatar, including inquires, Q&A’s and draft editorial pieces.
- Protecting the company’s image and reacting immediately in the case of negative public perception in the media or elsewhere.
- Evaluate positive publicity opportunities within the media landscape or outside, e.g. working with charities, schools, institutions, organisations etc...in order to maximise awareness and coverage of the airline.
- Gathering and updating corporate information and news for the media and other stakeholders.
- Support the Corporate Communications team with writing press releases, speeches, editorials and supervise the distribution of press information to the right channels (not just media, but other bodies mentioned above).
- Coordinate press events and conferences in Doha, organise media trips and other PR activities.
- Take ownership of assigned projects from start to finish. Ensure reporting of project status and progress at all levels is relevant, consistent, accurate, effective and meet deadlines.
- Work within a crisis environment, assisting with the organisation of a Press Conference and/or family assistance / reception centres in the event of a crisis.

We are looking for a passionate and experienced professional to join the Corporate Communication Team.
- Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent with Minimum 4 years of job-related experience
- Fluent verbal and written English and Arabic
- Computer literate
- Manage tasks in hand efficiently and quickly.
- Ability to prioritise workload.
- Multi-tasking.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Quick learner.
- Full knowledge of the company and its background as the role involves liaising with key
- stakeholders, not just media.
- Ability to prepare information documents for external stakeholders, working with Corporate
