About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Quality Controller to join our team at Calo in Doha, Qatar. As a Quality Controller, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality of all incoming and outgoing materials and products, as well as the production procedures.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Conduct regular inspections of the production cycle to ensure efficiency and compliance with Food Safety & Quality standards.
  • Approve incoming materials by verifying specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, and rejecting and returning unacceptable materials.
  • Verify in-process production by confirming required specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, and communicating necessary adjustments to concerned managers.
  • Maintain accurate records of testing, information, and metrics such as defective products per day, kitchen inspection results, and Hygiene & Sanitation Inspection.
  • Monitor equipment usage to ensure safety and maintenance, reporting any non-compliant equipment.
  • Select output samples and check them using appropriate methods (measuring dimensions, testing functionality, comparing to specifications, etc.).
  • Conduct staff awareness training sessions on food Safety & quality.
  • Support the team in developing and implementing a food safety & quality management system.
  • Investigate customer complaints, preparing corrective action plans for non-conformities.
  • Prepare and submit reports to the line manager.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a quality controller or relevant role in the catering or hotel industry.
  • Bachelor's Degree from a Food Background (Food Technology/Food Science/Microbiology/Bio-Chemistry etc.).
  • HACCP certification with a Level 03 as a minimum requirement.
  • Familiarity with quality testing machines and systems.
  • Proficiency in MS Office.
  • Strong verbal and written English language skills.
  • Confident, firm, and pleasant personality with excellent teamwork skills.
  • Familiarity with Qatar's rules and regulations as per the municipality/MOH.
