Job Description

Under the guidance of the Director of Engineering, we are seeking a highly skilled individual to maintain our luxury hotel's facilities and equipment in high standard.

Duties & Functions:

  • Maintain plant equipment including chillers, air conditioning, chilled water pumps, boilers, and perform routine testing and maintenance.
  • Repair and maintain refrigeration equipment, chillers, walk-in coolers, and freezers.
  • Ensure health and safety legislation records are logged and maintained.
  • SOURCE AND CONTRACT SUPPLIERS AS REQUIRED.
  • Organize schedules and risk assessments for plant-related areas.
  • Be on call for any plant emergency.
  • Perform PPM checks.
  • Manage and service air conditioning and refrigeration systems.
  • Participate in hotel energy conservation programs.
  • Attend on-job training and adhere to departmental standards and procedures.
  • Supervise tool issuance and safe return within the Engineering department.
  • Oversee contractors working on site, ensuring their safety induction and maintaining job records.
  • Liaise with contractors and suppliers.
  • Raise, accept, and monitor purchase orders.
  • Accept deliveries in a timely manner.
  • Supervise maintenance teams and external contractors performing maintenance work.
  • Ensure up-to-date health and safety records.
  • Form part of the fire team and assist in emergencies.
  • Monitor utility readings for efficient power management.
  • Stay aware of changes in regulations and environmental issues.
  • Perform other tasks as reasonably required and be available for emergency callouts.
  • Collaborate with the Assistant Director of Engineering to optimize department processes.
  • Plan small guest projects to minimize impact.
  • Oversee team and contractor work to ensure deadlines and standards are met.
