About the Role

The Senior Legal Specialist will be responsible for reviewing, analyzing, drafting, and negotiating complex contracts in conjunction with User and Sponsor departments to protect the interests of, and meet the business requirements of, Qatar Airways Group. This role will provide accurate and business-oriented legal advice to Qatar Airways and its subsidiaries.

Key Responsibilities
  • Negotiate, draft, and implement a wide variety of simple and complex commercial agreements.
  • Develop and manage strategic contracts in accordance with corporate requirements, supporting legal requirements and procedures to secure and protect the business interests of the company in matters related to contracts.
  • Review draft and negotiate contracts with suppliers and service providers.
  • Work closely with clients across the QR Group, becoming their trusted legal and business advisor.
  • Develop and implement suggestions to contract policy and procedure revision and improvement.
  • Provide high-quality review, analysis, negotiation, and drafting of contracts.
  • Identify issues and determine when the escalation procedure should be started.
  • Resolve any disputes which come up and identifying areas for improvement in company's contracting processes.
  • Provide legal interpretations on Standard Terms and Conditions of contracts.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent with minimum 8 years of job-related experience.
  • Must be qualified as a lawyer in a recognized jurisdiction.
  • Must have work experience in a law firm or in-house legal environment.
  • Qualified in a common law jurisdiction.
  • Experience of a multi-cultural environment in contracts management and legal.
  • Have worked in a medium or large-sized matrixed/cross-functional environment.
  • Contracts management experience.
