Our Finance Team in Qatar

In Hitachi Rail Ground Transportation Systems, we are looking for a Bids & Projects Financial Controller based in Qatar who will act as the main point of contact for Finance in the country, lead financial management of all projects and bids, and support the Head of Finance and Head of Accounting & Treasury with the accounting and reporting of the country financial position.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Financial Project Management: Prepare monthly financial dashboards, showing project progress in terms of key financial factors - costs, revenue, cash, and margin.
  2. Project Monitoring: Support the Project Manager and PMO in the daily monitoring of the financials during the project life, taking an active role in project costing and EAC updates, including review of risks.
  3. Project Cash Flow Management: Manage project cash flow, assisting with project payment applications and regular invoicing to the customer, and managing regular payments to internal subcontractors.
  4. Commercial Support: Support the commercial team in all contractual topics that impact the project and bids, including claims, variations, final settlements, and tax issues.
  5. Financial Reporting: Manage financial reporting during month-end closing activities in terms of accuracy and timeliness.
  6. Country Financial Reporting: Support Head of Finance and Head of Accounting in all topics related to country financial reporting and accounting, including tax queries, audits, periodic financial reporting, entity budgeting, and forecasting.
  7. Project Balance Sheet Management: Manage project balance sheet.
  8. Financial Budgeting and Forecasting: Lead financial annual project budgets and forecasting.
  9. Compliance: Comply with local accounting and tax laws and legislation.
Requirements
  1. Experience: 5+ years' work experience in Project Controlling, Accounting, and Reporting under IFRS 15 and complex multi-unit industrial projects.
  2. Education: Finance Master's degree or equivalent.
  3. Technical Skills: High level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and SAP by Design or equivalent ERP.
  4. Communication Skills: Good written and communication skills.
  5. Language: Fluent in English is a must.
