Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Elementary Education Specialist to join our team at HUBS - HAYAT UNIVERSAL BILINGUAL SCHOOL KUWAIT. As a Homeroom Teacher for Lower Elementary, you will be responsible for creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment for our students in G1.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and implement instruction at the yearly, unit, weekly, and daily levels, ensuring alignment with the British Columbia Canada Ministry of Education Curriculum.
  • Use effective teaching strategies, learning resources, and professional development to support instruction and create opportunities for differentiated learning.
  • Communicate assignments and objectives to students in a clear and organized manner, using precise language.
  • Diagnose, instruct, and evaluate student needs, seeking assistance as necessary from the School Support Program.
  • Monitor student progress through regular assessments and provide feedback to students, parents, and school administration.
  • Engage in discussions and planning with Grade Level Teams to enhance consistency of practice and student achievement.
  • Prepare formal report cards and participate in parent conferences.
  • Establish and maintain fair and just standards for student behavior, adhering to the school Code of Conduct.
  • Supervise students in the classroom, on campus, and during school-related activities.
  • Guide, motivate, and supervise the classroom assistant, if assigned.
  • Maintain accurate, complete, and legible records as required by school policy.
  • Attend and actively participate in staff meetings, including those focused on analyzing student assessment and data for growth planning.
  • Communicate concerns, ideas, and information with colleagues, students, parents, and the community in a professional and constructive manner.
  • Maintain a positive professional relationship with parents, including informing them of upcoming lesson summaries, behavioral issues, and student progress.
  • Display a willingness to understand local culture and handle cultural nuances in a caring and respectful manner.
  • Participate in professional development organized by the school.
  • Attend Saturday school, not exceeding eight sessions per school year.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of teaching experience.
  • Teaching Credential/License.
  • Experience in differentiated learning and student inquiry instruction is strongly preferred.
  • Experience in ESL education is strongly preferred.
  • International experience and/or an attitude of respect for other cultures is necessary.
Benefits
  • Starting annual salary range: CAD 41,000 - 60,000 based on experience and qualifications.
  • Annual salary increase upon contract renewal.
  • Tax-free salary.
  • End-of-service benefit: 70% of one month's gross salary for every full year of service.

  • Transportation allowance: CAD 4,400/year or use of school buses.
  • All utilities paid except telephone and Internet bills.

  • Annual economy round-trip airfare to point of origin at the time of summer vacation.

  • The school will arrange and bear the Qatar government fee for your visa, work permit, and national identification.
