About the Role

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Technical Officer to join our team at Qatar Airways. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the optimal performance of assets in our airport facilities, collaborating with various teams to achieve this goal.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, schedule, and supervise preventive and corrective maintenance programs for all assets in accordance with statutory requirements, industry standards, and company policies.
  • Manage contractors to implement preventive maintenance regimes in airport facilities, reducing downtime and increasing asset performance.
  • Monitor contractor performance through quality audits, resource utilization data, and asset lists to ensure timely completion and adherence to KPIs.
  • Continuously improve contractor productivity by optimizing resources and ensuring operational efficiency.
  • Develop and drive asset optimization programs in collaboration with other FM teams to optimize maintenance costs while ensuring asset performance.
  • Perform site investigations and provide technical solutions to engineering issues or concerns to resolve/mitigate problems and ensure optimum operation effectiveness and reliability of assets.
  • Prepare, review, and work closely with management to identify and manage departmental risks to mitigate potential impact on airport operations.
  • Support ongoing and future expansion projects with technical knowledge, share knowledge of existing systems, and review impact to existing infrastructure to ensure implementation of lessons learned.
  • Provide technical input and feedback to project design reviews to ensure system specification, material choice, and installation design are commensurate with experienced lessons learned and from an effective maintenance perspective.
  • Coordinate and attend site inspections, testing and commissioning, project handover, and snag/defect rectification processes to ensure all projects are delivered according to Qatar Airways expectations.
  • Review and supervise all works undertaken by contractors to ensure all health, safety, and environmental standards are met to reduce risk of accidents, incidents, and environmental damage.
  • Manage occupational health and safety by reviewing contractors' OH&S plans to ensure compliance to Airport Regulations.
  • Perform other department duties related to his/her position as directed by the Head of the Department.

Requirements:

  • High School Qualification/Vocational Qualification/Diploma or Equivalent with Minimum 4 years of job-related experience.
  • Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent with Minimum 3 years of job-related experience.
  • Previous works experience in complex and demanding environments.
  • Good exposure and working knowledge in facilities management of Lounges, Hotels, and Retails preferably with airport background.
  • Experience engaging with multiple stakeholders at any given time.
