Job Summary

Tanqeeb is seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrical Engineer to join our team in a design review and coordination role. The successful candidate will be responsible for reviewing electrical drawings, reports, and specifications submitted by design consultants to ensure completeness, correctness, constructability, and compliance with the scope of work and agreed requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Design Review and Coordination: Review electrical drawings, reports, and specifications submitted by design consultants at each design stage to ensure completeness, correctness, constructability, and compliance with the scope of work and agreed requirements.
  2. Comment and Feedback: Review design consultant submittals on time and forward comments to the project manager.
  3. Design Consultant Management: Ensure design consultants incorporate comments raised from previous stages.
  4. Technical Meetings: Attend technical meetings with design consultants, other sub-consultants, and company team.
  5. Design Organization Review: Review contractor/consultant's proposed design organizations and related CVs and report to project manager on findings.
  6. Document Control: Coordinate with project document controller to ensure that all documents related to the discipline are properly controlled.
  7. Design Concept Review: Review alternatives to the design concept submitted by design consultants and prepare and submit a report including recommendations to the project manager highlighting the advantages and disadvantages of each alternative.
  8. Material Review: Review materials proposed by design consultants/contractors and propose an alternative to improve quality and ensure maintenance, safety, and cost-effectiveness.
  9. Tender Document Review: Review tender documents to ensure completeness before issuing them to bidders.
  10. Pre-Qualification: Participate in the pre-qualification of construction contractors.
  11. Bidder Clarification: Review and reply to bidder's clarifications, participate in issuing bulletins, and attend technical meetings with bidders during the tender stage.
Requirements
  1. Education: A degree in electrical engineering or a business-related discipline is required.
  2. Experience: 10 or more years of experience.
  3. Skills: Ability to think ahead, identify new opportunities, and create new and innovative approaches to work-related issues. Strong management and communication skills. Demonstrates a determination, desire to succeed, and a wish to progress and develop within a commercial role. Excellent working knowledge of Word and Excel and strong user skill level within MS Office or Primavera. Excellent numerical and communication skills.
