Key Responsibilities
  • Build and Maintain Relationships: Develop and maintain positive working relationships with external parties, including customers, suppliers, and contractors.
  • Proposal Support: Support proposals by developing the discipline execution strategy, estimating costs, writing proposal content, and presenting to customers.
  • Technical Leadership: Ensure discipline technical work and team activities meet all health, safety, environmental, and security requirements.
  • Specialist Support: Provide specialist technical support, supervision, and advice to the discipline and project teams; participate in peer reviews.
  • Engineering Practices: Ensure recognized offshore engineering practices applicable to Electrical design engineering are adopted within the discipline.
  • Project Management: Initiate, manage, and supervise engineering assignments on projects that meet project requirements on time and within budget.
  • Team Management: Organize and manage all aspects of the workload of a team of Electrical discipline engineers and designers, within the parameters of a project schedule.
  • Project Execution Plan: Understand and apply the Project Execution Plan (PEP) requirements - make-up and application (including the Engineering Plan).
  • Design and Documentation: Lead the production of detailed designs and drawings, specifications, data, calculations, and reports.
  • Quality Assurance: Focus team on achievement of milestones and other key project objectives.
  • Safety and Quality: Quality Assurance work within the provisions and guidelines of the Quality Assurance systems.
  • Personal Safety: Safety responsible for personal safety and working within the Occupational Health & Safety procedures.
Job-Specific Knowledge

A successful candidate will have extensive knowledge of:

  • Single Line Protection, Control, and Metering Diagrams: Development of Single line protection, control, and metering diagrams for 220 kV GIS Substation, 66 kV GIS switchgear, 11kV switchgear/Motor control, 415 switchgear/MCC with automatic bus transfer scheme.
  • Detail Design Packages: Prepare detail design packages including detailed AC and DC schematic, Wiring diagrams, Equipment layout, Cable and Panel Schedules, Interconnections, Power, Grounding, and lighting layouts.
  • Power System Studies: Conducted, reviewed, and issued Power System Load Flow, Short Circuit studies, Protection Coordination. Used voltage drop, equipment sizing, lighting Calculations, and cable sizing.
  • International Standards: Extensive knowledge of international standards and their applicability.
Industry-Specific Experience

A successful candidate will have:

  • Senior-Level Experience: Extensive work experience at a senior level within the Oil & Gas industry.
  • Technical, Practical, and Leadership Experience: Extensive technical, practical, and leadership experience in the electrical discipline in the same or similar industry, including experience managing and leading multi-disciplinary projects and teams.
Education Qualifications, Accreditation, Training
  • Full-Time Bachelor's Degree: Full-Time Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.
  • MME Engineering Accreditation: MME (Ministry of Municipality and Environment) engineering accreditation is a mandatory requirement. Candidates not holding this accreditation must be willing to achieve this within the probationary period.
  • Chartered Professional Engineer Status: Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) status or undertaking the same will be an advantage.
