Job Title: Technical Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Manager to join our team at The Taleb Group in Doha, Qatar.

Job Summary:

The Technical Manager will be responsible for ensuring that our calibration methods and reference standards are followed during calibration. This includes preparing a plan for assuring the quality of calibration results and conducting inter-laboratory comparisons and replicate calibrations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure that documented calibration methods and reference standards are followed during calibration.
  • Prepare a plan for assuring the quality of calibration results and conduct inter-laboratory comparisons and replicate calibrations.
  • Promote a synergistic work culture and discuss with the Quality Manager to identify training needs of employees.
  • Maintain records for recalibration verification by outside labs and proficiency testing participation records.
  • Initiate corrective/preventive actions based on quality assurance activities feedback.
  • Ensure proper accommodation and environment is maintained in calibration areas.
  • Prepare preventive maintenance schedule and ensure follow-up of preventive maintenance for all identified equipment.
  • Ensure proper and effective follow-up of intermediate checks on equipment to maintain validity of calibration.
  • Verify and review recalibration records.
  • Ensure that all equipment is traceable to national/international standards and has a valid relationship.
  • Ensure periodic calibration of reference standards before validity expires.
  • Ensure optimum use of available resources as a part of productive work.
  • Ensure that proper records are maintained at all stages of calibration and quality assurance activities.
  • Ensure safe and proper handling of instruments throughout the laboratory.
  • Ensure stringent follow-up of documented management system in the laboratory for technical requirements of ISO/IEC 17025.
  • Identify and provide technical training to all laboratory employees in consultation with the General Manager.
  • Review measurement uncertainty as calculated periodically for each instrument or parameter in the calibration discipline.
  • Handle all complaints in technical areas and analyze the same.
  • Identify or develop methods for calibration and develop facilities for calibration.
  • Report to the General Manager for technical matters and performance of QC/QA checks of Laboratory.
Requirements:
  • Currently based in Qatar.
  • Candidates should have a Civil Engineering Degree.
  • Have at least 3 years of experience in third-party material testing.
