Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Bar Manager to oversee the bar service at our esteemed establishment. As a key member of our hospitality team, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional customer experiences and ensuring seamless beverage service operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the bar service team to provide high-quality, efficient beverage service that exceeds guest expectations.
  • Manage multiple areas and oversee employees of various F&B outlets to ensure compliance with licensing regulations and hotel procedures.
  • Handle multiple priorities, work in a fast-paced environment, and exercise good judgment when dealing with guests and complaints.
  • Oversee the bar's operation, establishing and maintaining performance standards, while maximizing revenue and profit.
  • Appraise team member performance, provide feedback, and facilitate improvements in accordance with established standards of product and performance.
  • Select products that meet quality standards and financial expectations.
  • Coordinate with other departments/managers to ensure smooth daily operations.
  • Communicate effectively with team members, demonstrating confidence and encouraging them to feel valued and empowered.
  • Maintain a clean and organized bar environment, performing regular maintenance and ensuring adequate supplies.
  • Assist in setting and achieving daily sales and assigned cost goals.
  • Implement cost controls as needed to achieve positive financial results.
  • Celebrate successes and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Ensure guest service standards are set, implemented, monitored, and evaluated.
  • Set up the bar according to operational standards.
  • Comply with licensing regulations and hotel procedures for alcohol service.
  • Train staff on beverage knowledge, preparation, and presentation.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and fire regulations through proper training.
  • Oversee staff presentation and uniform standards.
  • Create and manage Personal Development Plans for staff, encouraging training and development.
  • Address staff shortages due to absenteeism and manage absences according to procedures.
  • Apply the company disciplinary policy when necessary.
  • Complete necessary staff-related administration as per company procedures.
  • Produce and communicate revenue forecasts to the Food and Beverage office.
  • Maximize revenue and increase average spend through upselling and high customer service standards.
  • Work with cost control to ensure timely stock takes and meet food and beverage cost targets.
  • Achieve or exceed monthly drink profit margin targets.
Requirements
  • Customer Service experience in supervisory or above capacity.
  • A warm personality, attentive, and smartly presentable.
  • An ability to listen and respond to demanding Guest needs.
  • Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Accountable and resilient.
  • Committed to delivering high levels of customer service.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Flexibility to respond to a range of different work situations.
  • A medium level of IT proficiency is required.
