Registered Dental Hygienist Opportunity at Blue Jay Dental

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Registered Dental Hygienist to join our team at Blue Jay Dental in Harrisonburg, VA. As a key member of our dental care team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the overall success of our practice.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough patient assessments, including medical history reviews and dental charting
  • Deliver personalized patient care using established dental hygiene procedures
  • Take patient vital signs and maintain accurate records
  • Perform routine treatment procedures, such as cleanings and polishing
  • Take radiographs as needed for diagnosis and treatment planning
  • Apply sealants and fluorides to promote patient oral health
  • Maintain accurate electronic records and document patient information
  • Communicate effectively with patients, dentists, and other team members
  • Teach patients proper oral hygiene techniques and provide education on preventive care
  • Clean and sterilize instruments to ensure a safe and healthy environment
  • Collaborate with the dentist to develop and implement treatment plans
  • Review and explain treatment plans and fees with patients
  • Articulate patient concerns and needs to the dentist and other team members

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must have a reliable and detail-oriented approach, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. A completed dental hygiene certificate program or associate's degree in dental hygiene, along with a current hygienist license for the state of North Carolina, is required. You should be able to demonstrate independent thinking, good judgment, and a teamwork approach to job responsibilities.

Schedule

This is a full-time position, Monday to Friday, with a flexible schedule to accommodate patient needs.

License/Certification
