Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Piping Engineer to join our team at SPIE Oil & Gas Services Middle East LLC in Doha, Qatar. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing safe and efficient mechanical support on defined issues and contributing to the Static team's efforts in line with organizational strategic objectives.

Main Responsibilities
  1. Vendor Management: Review and evaluate vendor offers for piping components, specialties, and valves to ensure compliance with company standards and procedures.
  2. Technical Support: Provide timely piping engineering support and troubleshooting assistance to other departments, including input to project concepts and engineering review of piping designs.
  3. Procedure Development: Develop and maintain procedures and guidelines to ensure safe and consistent piping design in compliance with internal guidelines, current international standards, and industry practices.
  4. Piping Component Selection: Select and appraise piping systems and their application to abnormal situations, devising solutions to diverse design, material, environment, cost, and integrity issues.
  5. Design Audits: Approve and confirm design audits, company operational, safety, and reliability practices.
  6. Technical Support to Site Operations: Provide technical and administrative support, relating to valves and PSVs, to the site base operations; preparation of scopes of work.
Requirements

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 10 years of experience with at least 5 years offshore level on-field equipment in diversified oil & gas processing or petrochemical plants. A Higher Secondary School Education plus a three-year technical diploma (HNC, HND or equivalent) is required. Fluency in English with both written and verbal communication is essential, as well as good interpersonal and organizational skills, and a good level of computer literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Profile

The successful candidate will have a degree or industry-recognized technical qualifications supported by industry experience (offshore and onshore oil and gas facilities). A minimum of 5 years' experience working in the oil and gas industry in a similar role is required. Strong technical skills in a multi-cultural and highly technical specialized environment are essential, as well as a thorough understanding and application of industry process safety guidelines and procedures.
