About the Role

Hyder Consulting is a leading international advisory and design consultancy seeking a highly skilled Senior Engineer to join our team in Doha, Qatar.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Liaise with government departments and utility providers to ensure compliance with drainage requirements.
  2. Contribute to the development of strategic plans for general development, focusing on infrastructure and public health engineering.
  3. Initiate new projects and prepare design briefs for consultants, ensuring adherence to contractual procedures and international standards.
  4. Audit consultants' submissions to ensure quality and conformance to design briefs.
  5. Assist in preparing the annual design budget and reviewing consultants' design submissions.
  6. Liaise with drainage engineers to ensure conformity to overall plans and highlight conflicts.
  7. Review current design practices and modify as necessary, ensuring alignment with company administration procedures.
  8. Provide technical advice on drainage matters and assist in preparing cycle reports.
  9. Liaise with the Roads Department to ensure seamless collaboration.
Requirements
  1. Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
  2. Chartered or Professional Engineer certification from a Western European or American institution.
  3. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Project, as well as knowledge of GIS.
  4. At least 15 years of experience in Civil and Public Health Engineering, with expertise in sewerage infrastructure and storm drainage systems.
  5. Experience in Master Planning and drainage area studies of large areas is essential.
  6. Advantageous experience in CCTV work, asset management, manhole surveys, and hydraulic modeling.
  7. Experience in projects involving government departments and public/private organizations.
  8. Development Control experience would be an advantage.
Desirable Skills
  1. Ability to speak and write Arabic would be an advantage.
  2. Culturally sensitive with experience in operating in a multicultural environment.
  3. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with excellent interpersonal skills.
  4. Proactive and organized approach, with attention to detail and ability to focus on wider objectives.
