About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Junior SCS Commissioning Engineer to join our Smart Infrastructure Electrical & Automation division in Doha, Qatar.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Support the testing and commissioning of substation automation systems in Qatar.
  • Design and parameterize substation control and monitoring systems.
  • Parameterize Human Machine Interface / SCADA.
  • Implement cybersecurity in automation systems.
  • Implement virtualized automation solutions using VMware & Hyper V.
  • Parameterize BCU and Protection digital relays for Medium and High Voltage IEDs.
  • Commission substation control and monitoring systems, including conducting functional performance, Factory Acceptance Tests, and Site Acceptance Tests.
  • Prepare technical reports and documentation of results, including panel drawings, test protocols, and SCADA Point list / Module data Checklist.
  • Report project status to technical Project management.
  • Follow EHS guidelines.
  • Update with end-user technical standards and regulations.
  • Work in a team environment and share knowledge.
  • Travel throughout Qatar for participation in commissioning activities.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Bachelor's Degree in electrical engineering.
  • 2-5 years' experience as SAS engineer for SIEMENS substation automation systems SICAM PAS, SICAM SCC, SIMATIC WinCC, SICAM A8000.
  • Certification in SIEMENS SICAM PAS, SICAM SCC, SIMATIC WinCC, SICAM A8000 is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of protocols in automation systems such as IEC 61850, Modbus, IEC 60870-5-101, IEC 60870-5-103, IEC 60870-5-104.
  • Knowledge of PLCs and RTUs.
  • Knowledge of networking in automation systems.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity in automation systems.
  • Strong knowledge of virtualization concepts in Automation.
  • Strong knowledge of IoT and associated communications.
  • Knowledge of non-SIEMENS SCS / SCADA systems is an advantage.
  • Programming and scripting knowledge.
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English.
  • Strong personal skills.
